You forgot to mention Oleg Penkovskey the high ranking Soviet military officer who initially gave the western governments intelligence about the nuclear missiles located in Cuba. It wasn’t the U2’s all by themselves. Oleg Penkovsky literally gave his life to make sure that ours could continue to exist, and brought the nuclear brinksmanship to a halt. He is a hero, and should he celebrated in the west for all he did for humanity.

Russia in my opinion was right to put missiles on Cuba as they were just insuring the mad ferry. with the missiles in Turkey belonging to the US Russia had no viable way of getting to America with its nuclear ordinance so it wasn’t a case of starting world War three it was simply a case of ensuring that they had the ability to hit America if America shot first. And both sides in the Cold War fought at the other would shoot first but they wouldn’t shoot first hence why nuclear weapons are the best peacekeepers in the history of humanity.
My dad was in Army basic training during the Cuban Missile Crisis. They told my dad and buddies that they had qualified on their weapons so they are capable enough to go into battle.

How would putting nukes in Cuba be tantamount to a declaration of war on US by Russia, if US already had Nukes in Turkey? If Turkey's nukes can reach Russia, and putting nukes in Cuba (in range of US) was a declaration of war, then the US already declared war on Russia by having them in Turkey.
That was in fact the Soviet position. He wanted the missiles removed from Turkey, and he got that. Missiles had shorter ranges back then, and Castro was a lot scarier then too. Today the major powers can hit anywhere from anywhere.

How would putting nukes in Cuba be tantamount to a declaration of war on US by Russia, if US already had Nukes in Turkey? If Turkey's nukes can reach Russia, and putting nukes in Cuba (in range of US) was a declaration of war, then the US already declared war on Russia by having them in Turkey.
That was in fact the Soviet position. He wanted the missiles removed from Turkey, and he got that. Missiles had shorter ranges back then, and Castro was a lot scarier then too. Today the major powers can hit anywhere from anywhere.

Most recently, the USA, supposed "defender of the free world" according to you, turned over Afghanistan to the Taliban. The same Taliban who are treating women as chattel, imposing Draconian islamic religious laws, and funding terrorism against free-world interests.
Oh, and don't forget that in the process of abandoning Afghanistan, they left millions of dollars of military hardware - paid for by American tax dollars-- including armored vehicles, night vision, and small arms, for the Taliban terrorists to seize.
