I saw this when it was on tv way back in 1987. I was a big fan of Roger Moore and saw him in 2008 in London. He was promoting his book "My Word is my Bond". Emma Forbes interviewed him on stage and at some point was taking questions from the audience.
I asked Sir Roger " What was it like working with the other big stars in The Wild Geese"? He replied modestly, " What do you mean? The other big stars, I was the big star!
The whole theatre erupted in laughter. He definitely had a good sense of humour!
He'd know Emma Forbes as he was friends with her parents, Bryan Forbes and Nanette Newman.
The class of Moore and the beauty of Emma Forbes... Yes
If your name was a double entendre, you'd have a sense of humour. Bond always liked a bit of Rogering.
It’s odd to see how Moore looks actually really good for his age once he’s not trying to play much younger. (Edit: glad to see I’m not the only one noticing this)
Moore played Bond in a more seasoned manner compared to the other players. He's actually doing some detective work too. And generally, the women he romanced were age appropriate.
Moore looks better here than he did in A View to a Kill, he looks like he did in the 70s.
007 CM yes total miss-match there
I remember that during an interview after A View To A Kill, Sir Roger mentioned that he was fighting am intestinal bug and as a result he kept losing weight during filming. Nobody ever mentions this, and it explains why he looks more fit two years after AVTAK was released. He clearly looked like he was losing wright in many scenes during the movie. A tough shoot no doubt, but he delivered another fine performance as James Bond.
Roger Moore isn’t my favorite Bond but he is 100% the best ambassador the character has ever had. Connery and Lazenby are bitter towards it, Dalton and Brosnan seem to enjoy their privacy(which is fine) and Craig is a drama queen about it and thinks its awful(and sometimes he likes it idk)
I'm 100% in agreement with you on this opinion. Moore seemed to have loved the character, the fans, the crew, and his fellow cast. He did interviews and promotions about his role up until his death. He isn't my favorite bond, but he's definitely my favorite actor to have the title of Bond. I think Brosnan is my personal favorite bond, but as you pointed out, he's very private about his life, and doesn't really go out of his way to interact with his fans. That is totally okay, and it was actually nice to see him do that GoldenEye watch-along stream last week. I wonder if Brosnan realizes the positive legacy he has for a lot of folks between his films and video games.
Yes Roger Moore didn't really have an entrapment syndrome with his Bond character compared to the other stars, perhaps because he was lucky to actually play the softer Bond model that started with "Diamonds are Forever" which imho didn't really fit Connery's portrayal of Bond.
Moore did not take himself very seriously. He even took cameo roles in random movies as an unfortunate buffoon, which arguably cheapened his portrayal of Bond.
Roger Moore always seemed like the guy who wants to enjoy everyday of his life. He likes to see people smile. And his work with UNICEF shows he'll go out of his way to help others. I think that everytime he came back to Bond, he gets as much happiness from it as his fans do.
When Brosnan comes out of his shell he does a bit. He goes to premieres and certain events and is a Bond fan himself but nowhere near what Roger did. I never heard about Dalton after Bond
I like to think there' an alternate universe somewhere where Roger Moore never stopped playing bond and Tom Baker is still the doctor
Well I always assumed that the Timothy Dalton/Pierce Brosnan movies were a new timeline.
So as a child I always hoped they would make another one with Roger Moore as an older Bond.
There's no line that separates the Doctor from Tom Baker.
You’re in your late 40’s/early 50’s and I claim my £5.
Mr Farky Hars I’m 17 lmao
Mr Farky Hars what do you mean lol you can be young and like older stuff, and I’m not saying I wish it was that way, Roger’s actually my 2nd least fave bond oops
That was really a treat to watch. Roger Moore was always so Bondian, no matter what he was doing. He was the perfect choice as the presenter of this special. Such a treat!
He was the best of them, one of very few celebs who could laugh at themselves and make fun of themselves, an admirable trait of a well rounded human being, something alot of people today could do with learning. Watch any interview with Roger and you can't help but love the guy!
Brilliant. I'm so glad you reviewed this overlooked special that I have never heard of. Calvin. I am a big bond fan and have flirted the idea of doing my own RUclips channel. While I'm still shy about doing it I can enjoy in comfort of your brilliant show. You writing is so sharp, witty and I love your skits. You are an amazing RUclipsr and as I am currently in standstill like the rest of the UK I enjoy watching your videos to lift my spirits. Keep up the good work Calvin!
Thanks, very much for this! Really means a lot and I'm very glad you're enjoying the videos. Making them is keeping me somewhat sane during all this!! And you should definitely start your own RUclips channel! The more people are out their talking about Bond and championing the series, the better! Thanks again :)
this is Roger Moore era extended again
1964-1987. That's 23 years as a character. Either canon or not. This acts as a bit of a retrospective.
You mean 1974? And then 13 years?
LupusUnleashed 1973
@@lupusunleashed no Calvin found a 1964 bond skit with Roger Moore as the character so 23 years.
He was Bond in a 1964 skit
"May explode after 3 clicks" I lol'd hahahaha
As Roger is my favorite Bond, it was nice to see him here... and I agree, he looked younger here than in AVtaK. Thanks for sharing this Calvin!
That was great Calvin. Roger has always been my favourite 007 and this little gem was great to see. Thanks.
I could've had Roger live to 150 years old and he'd still make a great Bond. He was always so wholesome, even was he wasn't playing Bond.
Could it be said that Roger Moore was playing a fictionalized version of himself in that special?
Highly possible!
Maybe he’s playing “Roger Moore” from The Cannonball Run? 🤔
I think the real James Bond is playing Roger Moore.
There were multiple onion skin layers of Roger Moore being another Roger Moore.
John McGrady Same here. He's playing Seymour.
Brilliant, Lol. Roger always make you smile...👍🏻😆
The Spy Who Loved Me was played as a tribute to Desmond Llewelyn before the beginning of The World is Not Enough in theaters and on the VHS home version. It’s actually a quite fitting song for him in my opinion.
Nobody Does It Better was played as a tribute to Desmond Llewelyn before the beginning of The World is Not Enough in theaters and on the VHS home version. It’s actually a quite fitting song for him in my opinion.
"Trivia peacocking" (6:02) - what a perfect description!
I had forgotten about this special. I had recorded it on VHS and rewatched it for a few years. Thanks for bringing this up.
Oddly there was an official VHS release of this special shortly after it aired. This tape added additional film clips and sacrificed some of TLD coverage.
I'm actually really happy to see you get a sponsor! Might actually consider getting one of those wallets
2:49: The writer of the special, Richard Schickel was the film critic for Time magazine for decades and he made documentaries about filmmakers. So I would guess he got a pretty decent amount of money for this. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Schickel
Never saw that special. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you I remember seeing this program back in the day but only saw part of it. Great channel just subscribed. Thank you.🇬🇧🍸
I have to say that I do love Roger Moore James Bond so much
Thank you so much for Uploading This Amazing Video
I Love You So Much!🌹♥️💋
Hi Calvin, Yes I remember when this was aired, I also remember James Bonds 21st birthday...They called Ronald Reagan the then President of the USA to comment. The Press secretary said are you mad hes not going to comment and low and behold he said bring the cameras in.
"Bond is truely a symbol of the free world and some say hes just an actor in the movies but we all have to start somewhere". Brilliant!
The Russians then responded with "Hes just an agent with a license to kill"
always commenting as if Bond actually exists.
Great video as always...really enjoyed it!!!
He looks better here ironically than A View to a Kill. I guess his facelift settled by this time and he looked more "normal" again. He probably could have played Bond one more time, but I'm thankful Dalton became Bond as he's my favorite.
I watched it when it aired in 1987 and quickly stuck a tape in the VCR to record it. I was unused to these type of clip shows so it was a fun buffet. It was a joy to see Moore still promoting the series and I noticed the clips focused more on his films than Connery’s.
My 1st Bond Movie I watch is The Spy Who Loved Me until today this movie always My Bond Movie favorite 👍🏻👍🏻
If anyone ever travels to Beijing a visit to the Forbidden City is enhanced by a Sir Roger Moore voice recording as tour guide.
I used to love clip shows back in the 80's. You have to remember we had to rely on TV showing Bond films, generally people didn't have them readily available and editing was much more difficult. Anyone remember Disney Time? My kids would be incredibly confused by showing a short clip of something. I prefer this kind of thing to the talking head shows you got later.
You're right, it's alien to think of a time before RUclips, but back then you'd get excited when occasionally a film clips show came on. I used to get really excited every week just watching the countdown on Barry Norman's film programme of the Top 10 at the US box office, as they were of films not released in the UK, so it was my first glimpse.
Buying videos seemed such an expensive and rare occurrence then, that it was just sometimes renting, or waiting for a desired film to get screened on TV, so you could record it. As such glimpses on clip shows of Bond films I hadn't seen was a treat.
Roger Moore's Bond was a more family friendly Bond that you could say really aimed the franchise's appeal to the widest age range - equally successful as Sean Connery in the role though in a different way - just watch 'The Spy Who Loved Me' and 'Moonraker' and you'll see what I mean, he was the Bond of my childhood so he'll always be my favourite!...
One of reasons Roger seems in character is that he was played these roles largely as a personality actor. He had tremendous charisma and charm and so playing James Bond or Simon Templar, he simply tapped into that. He didn’t try to act as he didn’t have to. He was already in character and that’s why it looks so effortless. If you see him in parts of LALD or TMWGG where Hamilton probably directed him to do something out of character, you can tell he gets a bit more wooden. Connery was largely the same. He almost always played the same character and certainly never changed his voice. Something that often gets overlooked. Moore was chosen for the role because of his charisma and screen presence and it worked very well in general.
And then there was the James Bond Christmas special during which time Moneypenny sings all about Life Day. Wait, hold it. I might have that somewhat wrong.
Great and humorous overview. I did enjoy Roger Moore's open and friendly attitude. He was a class act.
Roger hosted several Bond specials. Even in 1979 he hosted one prior to Moonraker. Fully bearded at the time as making another film.
He was a keen skier.
I'll have to scope out that pre-Moonraker special! He's such a natural when it comes to presenting. The whole show could just be him talking and it'd be entertaining enough.
@@calvindyson Must be a dream come true for TV programme makers. Who better to present a Bond show than a former Bond? Only Roger would agree to do these. Certainly not Sean, George or Tim.
He hosted 'Best ever Bond' in 2002. Which is on RUclips. Still charming.
@@adamcollins915 Sean had a snobbish-ness to anything TV, once he became a star. I wouldn't expect to see him hosting a special, but he even wouldn't do high quality dramas or one-offs. Of course, if he was working now, he might do.
@@davidjames579 Sean didn't even turn up for the James Bond Bafta tribute.
I recorded this on VHS when it originally aired and watched a ton of it. It was where I discovered that ABC was butchering the films, as a few of the clips include bits not on the TV air. Specifically the aiming at your groin bit from TMWTGG.
Taped this off ABC in '87. Wore it out waiting on The Living Daylights. Damn I'm old.
I must admit to having done a similar thing with a 40th Anniversary special that Roger hosted "Best Ever Bond" on ITV here in the UK. Loved it at the time!
May I suggest doing a video on "Mad Mission 3: Our Man From Bond Street", where Bond is the villain (and Richard Kiel shows up as a henchman)?
Doesn't Jaws jump off The Eifel Tower, ala Mayday?
I knew the Parker pen reference was coming and it was excellent
Quality content as always my dude
I recorded this when it was on tv back in the day, used to watch it everyday. Couldn't imagine Daniel Craig doing anything like this, he doesn't even look like he wants the part.
In a TV movie from the man from uncle George lazenby made a very funny cameo as a James Bond like character
He also played a Bond type character in an episode of a one hour-long story series the title of which escapes me. He would have been a similar age to Sir Roger when he did it and he looked incredible and convincing as an older but nevertheless physically capable Bond!
SJKPJR007 lazenbys funny cameo on the return of the man from uncle van he found on RUclips
'it shakes the martini in its glass' had me laughin for minutes after
Wow talk about long buried memories I may have seen this its ringing bells & setting off a heck of a deja vu.
Since he is talking to the camera, you could say he is playing Simon Templar from his days on the TV show The Saint than Bond.
I actually remember this show. Thanks.
He really did look great there. You can feel his genuine excitement.
Love that wallet but my wife JUST got me a new one.
You may already know there are connections to another spy franchise more specifically George Lazenby's James Bond where he is linked to the American TV show The Man From Uncle specifically, the 1983 the return of the Man From Uncle TV movie in which he plays a spy called JB who helps out Napoleon Solo in downtown Las Vegas.
Fitting that Ian Fleming created both characters. 1983 was the first time a Bond film was produced by MGM, as they'd just bought UA. Back in the 60's, UA had threatened MGM with legal action for having their spy series be called Solo, as it was also a character in that year's Goldfinger. And using Fleming to create a Bond like series, complete with a SPECTRE like villainous organisation.
Out of all the men to portray Bond, i feel Roger was the one who had the most fun and loved playing Bond the most.
Roger Moore did not play James Bond, he played himself as James Bond and it was absolutely fantastic. People always try to compare each Bond actor and always argue who is the best, but it is hart to define. All of them had either not enought movies (Dalton and Lazeby) or had some kinda bad ones (Craig, Moore, Connery, Brosnan).
I liked a lot Moore as bond. The one I like less is Craig. He’s not a classic movie Bond: action and humor, sofistication and respect of the life of others. Bond only kills when he has no other option left.
Precisely the only moment I can remember of a cold killing aside of the many examples with Craig is with Moore. In For Your Eyes Only when he pushes the car off the cliff. But at this point of the movie the bad guy kinda deserved it
Fantastic content
Roger the best bond ever.
Anyone else here who loves Moore's Bond?
It almost looks as though Roger enjoyed the presenting the most.
That wallet crowd really made you work for that money
He's definitely being Bond in this ..... and yes, he looks years younger than he did AVTAK and back in the game!
I think he looks so well in this programme because he's got a little more weight on than he would for playing Bond. You get to a certain age and you can either have a trim physique or a young looking face. The passage of time makes it more difficult to achieve both simultaneously. Believe me, I know.
@@SJKPJR007 - Me too.
Had no idea this was a thing!
The director of A VIEW TO A KILL clearly did not want Moore back again, but was overruled. He allowed Moore to look bad and play the fool as much as possible. Moore looks much better here, a couple of years later.
Roger always seemed up for making a few thousand quid for a few days of easy work playing himself playing 007. He was great in The Cannonball Run. 😂
The guy could read a phone book with charm
I have a question. Is it true that roger moore was offered to play the role of Q? Maybe something related to that role?
He looks very good yep younger , they went a bit over the top with he's make up and hair on a view to a kill
On Bond Knowledge, I love Christopher Wood take on the Fish Scene in the Spy who Love Me . Bond only knows one fish that he dissected in School. And he get lucky because the villain ask him about that fish.
The wicker basket for wine was a thing. There are plenty of movies where you will see it in restaurants from the 40s to 50s. By the 80's, I think it was a thing of the past.
For some reason it just keeps making me think of Chicken In A Basket. I.e. a bit tacky. Also a real Sommelier shouldn't need a basket to support their pouring.
"inflate his gondola.." worthy of Roger himself
Roger Moore is looking great here he should have done one more then we could have had his true intended successor Pierce Brosnan a movie earlier and no Timothy Dalton my least favourite bond.
I’d be very surprised if Roger did need a stunt double for those skiing bits. I’m guessing he had already been skiing several times because coming to a stop and then starting off again are hardly complex ski tricks, they’re the sort of thing they teach you in your first week of ski school.
I watched this when I bought the living daylights on blu-ray.
He`s certainly in character, he doesn`t talk like that in interviews, Moore used to go into his Bond character for kids he`d meet at airports, he was the most fan friendly Bond of all, great stuff.
Lovely generous loving gentleman who appreciated his luck and love of his fans ❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@fluorosco He was one of those wonderful modest actors who think they're boring, and so pour themselves into their characters.
@@davidjames579 He really was. Great fun on and off the silver screen 🇬🇧👍
Did Connery do any of that? Nothing about him says kid friendly lol
@@nickslade3978 Not sure, but he did manage to shake off type casting post Bond and become one of the biggest stars ever. Moore got mostly trash after Bond. Not that he was getting stellar offers during it. Bit of stigma I think from executives due to his lower brow Bond movies.
I always say that Roger Moore isn't my favorite bond, but he's my favorite actor to ever be bond. The guy obviously loved the character, his fans, the production crew, and his fellow cast. The guy did interviews and interacted with fans up until his death. Even his most campy films in the series are also some of my favorite guilty pleasures. Moonraker will always be a personal favorite of mine.
I just got done watching A View To A Kill last night for the first time, and I actually really enjoyed it. My only frustration wasn't Moore's old age, but the lack of acknowledgement about it. They could have told a great story about an aging Bond in that one.
I have to admit... sometimes when iam in the bathroom taking a shower i still humm "Whereeee are yoooouuuu? Why do you hiiide", god the theme song from Moonraker is so awesome!
Well put. Not my favorite Bond either, but I've always found him very likeable. His memoirs are very entertaining to read and it is clear that he loved Bond.
Totally agree. Another good idea (an aging Bond role) that the Broccoli team missed. Now that you say that, I’m just thinking how awesome that would have been to have someone play wit less violence and more wit.
Completely agree with you. Moore was like an ambassador for the franchise. Although he wasn't suited to continue the Connery Bond character, he was very well suited to keeping the films popular.
"Moonraker will always be a personal favorite of mine." Me too, I saw it in a theather when it came out. You had to be in context, it was all about future.
At about the same time that I saw the movie, I saw the space shuttle on the back of a 747 pass over my head and land at the Dorval Montreal airport... For real! Space shuttle was brand new and never went in space while all of this happened. Those were very exciting times and Moonraker was part of it.
It is like if the next James Bond movie would have Space X Starship into it and Bond would use it to go to the Moon.
Roger was 60 when this was made and he looked great! Everything I've read about Sir Roger says he was very down to earth and a pleasure to work with. Sad day when we lost him, RIP Roger we miss you.
Missed terribly. Should have made twice sa many Bond movies
There isnt enought Roger Moore-Bond Movies
It's still funny that Roger was 5 years older than Sean Connery andit still felt like he was a much younger actor overtaking the role
@@armandovalmont9762 Three years older.
@@armandovalmont9762 3 years. But as he was set to end by for your eyes only, he should have.
Octopussy and view to a kill was overdo.
Tim Dalton in view to a kill would have been epic
Roger Moore was also intended to play Bond in the EA game "Agent Under Fire"
Also. Nice use of the Skyrail OST from 007 Nightfire
The model for Bond in that game to me always looked like a Moore-Lazenby hybrid
@@Risico16 He does - but the character's appearance is based on the actor that played him, Andrew Bicknell.
I heard Activision was planning a Moonraker game featuring Moore as Bond.
Moore Brosnen and Layzenby are the reference of the model in agent under fire
Roger Moore was the best James Bond. He had the most humor and the best charm. Plus who could forget such iconic movies such as The spy who loved me, Live and let die or Moonraker. The Series wouldn't be what it is today without him. RIP Roger Moore.
My best bond as well lot people loved him
Moore might not have been my favorite Bond actor, but he definitely is the best ambassador for the series. He was never ashamed or reticent about promoting the Bond franchise. I loved it when he hosted the top 10 Bond film moments in 2002
Used to love watching this on The Living Daylights DVD. Felt like I was on a field trip with Roger Moore.
EA was apparently planning a game based on The Spy Who Loved Me with Roger Moore voicing Bond as the Follow up to the From Russia With Love game which used Sean Connery but they lost the licence
He was a real hoot on Twitter, man do I miss him and I’m going to miss his many thoughts.
Agreed so missed his tweets as they were so funny :(
Me too!
Roger Moore is the only Bond actor whose name is a double entendre.
Even though it will be three years this May since he passed, it still honestly feels like he's still here with us, which I think is a testament to the kind of person he was in life.
That's the beauty of film and TV. He is still with us, always.
He was and is a legend.
@@davidjames579 same with Chris Lee , cant believe hes gone too
I somehow find Roger Moore's doddery and long in the tooth characterization of James Bond more appealing and endearing than his younger performance.
I dont know why.
Perhaps because as a younger Bond one always compares him to Sean or other younger Bonds.
But Moores charm really lasts and infact glows when he is older, since he isnt competing on the virility criterion now.
He seems more at ease and charming, and almost detective-like in the older ones. As if he knows that it's his smooth talk and grey cells that will help him get through the situation and not a punch up.
Perhaps why I really like A View To A Kill despite the obvious flaws and terrible make up and an obviously aging Moore.
It will take years before someone else will have that sort of appeal to make Bond so alluring at 56.
I agree with you. While Live and Let Die is a great film, his take on Bond only really feels right from The Spy Who Loved Me onwards and I particularly like him in Octopussy.
Noticed he often looked better in interviews during his Bond tenure than he did in the films.
adam collins I agree - something to do with the makeup? At the same time Leonard Nimoy was appearing in the Star Trek films looking a decade older than he did out of makeup 🤷♂️
@@rogerdalrymple422 He had cosmetic surgery before A View To A Kill, which didn't work out so well, but for some reason it's not noticeable here.
@@davidjames579 Looked thinner in AVTAK. Which made him look worse rather than better.
@@adamcollins915 I hate to pick on him, but it's his neck and eyebrow area that look really wrinkly. Like the opposite of cosmetic surgery. Poor Rodge, at least he improved.
@@davidjames579 When he died, it was mentioned he'd had skin cancer twice & been treated for it. It's my theory that this may be why he had plastic surgery. As he did have his face mole removed, and why at 57 have something you've lived with all your life, removed. Also perhaps they couldn't use tons of make up, if this was the case & by 87 he had recoverd & they could lather his face in make up. Also they're not movie quality cameras on the tv show. I dunno, It's just a theory, as I say.
He still looks younger in this documentary than he did in A View To A Kill
The pictures of the other bond girls are disproof of the codename theory
Maybe the different agents and the Bond girls are swingers?
Disproof codename theory always. There was 1 James Bond 007 from Dr. No to Die Another Day. On a sliding timeline. Sir Sean, Sir Roger, T. Dalton and P. Brosnan all had mentions either stated or implied re: Tracy Bond. Daniel Craig's tenure began as a hard reboot of series but paid homage to past. ie. Walther PPK, Aston Martin DB5 etc.
@@billlucas4675 implanted memories
@@billlucas4675 Yeah.Maybe it is like western more about the idea of James Bond, rather than an actuall timeline.
My hot take on the codename theory?
Connery is one Bond, retires due to boredom. Lazenby/Roger Moore are the same Bond (retires due to old age).
Connery Bond comes back for one more mission after Lazenby/Moore Bond takes leave of absence.
Dalton is one Bond (sacked after going rogue)
Brosnan is another Bond (retires)
There’s a few issues with continuity here but you can iron most of them out/explain them away.
It’s the most logical approach for me.
Craig isn’t proper canon.
A better name for this would have been “one Moore time..” lol
Moore, Please
@@davidjames579 Roger, more or You know when you've been Rogered.

I totally agree.calvin did a great job and I am seriously thinking of getting one for my husband.
Saaaaaame
NOT FOR ME ,THAT THING WOULD BE HACKED IN NO TIME
With this narration, Roger's probably the best at bedtime stories, with Dalton a close second. Can't think of Connery doing that.
I dunno, "Let my armies be the rocks and the trees, and the birds in the sky". Sounds like a bedtime story.
@@davidjames579 God, I love that film so much. Old Connery... fair point.
Roger definitely looks better in this than in AVTAK. He really could have played Bond again even though he must have been almost 60 here.
MrSuperphil he was actually 60
He could of played a spy of Bond's case-solving calibre but this short cuts to Timothy Dalton it looks like a kid and then it's back to Moore and you realise he's an older gent, not someone who can fight a dozen blackbelts in their 20s or walk along a beach topless and have women flocking to him. That bedroom scenes of with him and Grace Jones is a bit icky in retrospect but I would have loved to watch an older Moore play something that played to his character.
If i am not mistaken, his mom died soon before the AVTAK cameras started to roll. He mentioned in an interview around that time that it really affected him. I have always thought that his mourning and sadness affected his screen presence in the movie. There are several scenes where his eyes look not only tired but red...
Maybe because im in my late 50s, but roger moore was my favorite bond. Watching the movies back then were magical to a kid.
Why wouldn’t you have framed pictures of all the Bond girls??
The iconic bond girl pics on each "page" if discs is one of my favourite things about my bluray boxset!
Roger Moore doing some villain hamming?
So like he did in "Spice World" then? ;)
The two best Bonds in the same show. Dalton's portrayal was very close to the character, but Roger Moore's Bond movies were the ones I was raised on and he'll always be my favourite. Looks like he's having a great time here.
I loved Roger Moore, went to see an evening with Roger Moore in Dublin not long before he died. What a legend.
Enjoyed the video, loved the gratuitous ad😉😉, very in keeping with James Bond. Keep up the good work.
He really DID look better in the Special than he did in A View To A Kill!🙀
I know right? Like, he aged and looked younger?
@@calvindyson I would say it's the very reason you mentioned, the inferior video quality.
I think he looks so well in this programme because he's got a little more weight on than he would for playing Bond. @@ricardocantoral7672 But Connery at 41 looks terrible here.
I think it was the makeup in his last bond that aged him
Roger absolutely positively looks much better here than in A View To A Kill!!
He's playing Roger Moore as Bond like he did in Cannonball Run. Your impression of him cracked me up. Glad I'm not alone in getting a kick out of his contributions to this Special. He looked good for one more film but I think they did right casting Timothy Dalton when they did. To many of the next generation he was their Bond and he did bring a serious quality to the role much like Craig has done. When you see Roger in this and then come to Dalton it reminds me of going to the cinema and having to readjust my expectations for the films to not expect any charm humour or fun or eyebrow raising. Thankfully Pierce brought back a lot of the elements of Roger and Sean brought to the role.
The other actors played James Bond, Roger Moore IS James Bond
Connery doing the FRWL game may be considered in the rare bracket of past-Bond appearences as Bond?
George Lazenby in The Return Of The Man From UNCLE, 14 years after OHMSS.
Another great vid, Calvin. Humour is on point!
Your Roger Moore impression is superb, haha.
Thanks haha I'm glad you enjoyed it :D Along with Sheriff Pepper, Roger is my favourite impression to do :D
Calvin Dyson Looking forward to more impressions!
Rory Bremner does a very good Roger!

Roger does look younger here. Maybe the producers knew what they were talking about when they wanted to bring him back for another Bond film.
"All those feathers... and he still can't fly!" I say this every time I see someone fall over and to date I have never failed to make myself laugh yet! Roger Moore exudes two sadly rare 'C'-words. Two personality traits that I rarely see in people these days, almost as if they were now both deemed illegal: Charm and Charisma, yet with a self-deprecating humour. Truly he was the 'Great' in Great Britain. 🏆🇬🇧
