World's largest iceberg on the move from Antarctica

- A23a, the world's largest iceberg, is on the move for the first time in 35 years, drifting beyond Antarctica.
The discovery was made by scientists who analyzed recent satellite images and are now closely watching its trajectory.
This massive chunk of ice weighs one trillion tons and is three times the size of New York City.
Eric Sorensen explains why it's drifting, where it's heading, and the potential problems it could cause.

I'm from Alaska and I've watched Portage Glacier receed for over FORTY years. It used to be massive and now it's just a blue lake.
Sea levels are different around the world and the further north you go, the more you can observe it, so I say that my anecdote trumps yours by far. Good luck living in your tiny miniscule bubble.
1 - ocean levels don't rise the same everywhere (it's not like 1 tub of water). 2- The average over that time period is a couple inches, but some areas will also be lower

Unfortunately, humans are currently warming the planet ~18 times faster than it usually warms when coming out of an ice age, and as a result of this rapid man-made global warming, Greenland and Antarctica are melting 5-7 times faster than they were in the 1900s. Global temps should have been stable over the last 60 years. So, there's nothing natural about the transformation we have set in motion.

Saudi Arabia is already making plans to grab that berg and haul it home so they can create a lake in the desert for irrigation and grow more food for themselves. If that plan doesn’t work out the Israelis plan to relocate the Palestinians there so they have their own homeland. Carnival cruise lines is also trying to claim it to use as a cruise ship.
And the Lgbtq community are protesting that it’s pro-nouns are being ignored.

Damn. This would have never happened if it wasn't for Climate Change. We must have a ban on fossil fuels immediately for us 'peasants'. LOL, "climate change" has been happening for *at least* several millennia, humans haven't created it. Are humans making it worse? Sure but people aren't the reason icebergs are breaking away. If you were to magically eliminate all fossil fuels, climate change would still happen.

The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate, at Bergen, Norway. Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.
Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well-known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Yes, that's correct. Once the glacier calves and slips into the ocean it's already raised the sea level and won't raise it more by melting (Archimedes principle). However, they meant glaciers melting, not the iceberg. So there was no mistake by the scientists, just the narrator.

In other news that'll be sure to melt those icy bergs, according to TSA, the latest American Thanksgiving Sunday broke the US record for most travelers in a day, totaling 2,907,378 people.
