Today I have successfully upgrade ASA to FTD. I was struck FTP process, but you gave me idea to use FENIX http server. It worked like a champ .Thanks for your help bruv. I owe you Guinness 🍻for that 🤛🏽
Thank you for the video. I am currently in the process of installing system image via http. Do you remember how long it took? Seems the download to the ASA via http is extremely slow. I tried with HFS server first, that one showed over 16hrs estimated time, but fenix does not show estimate.
Hi, In our case the "show inventory" command doesn't list the SSD drive even though we have a steady green "HD" light on our ASA 5512 after plugging in the SSD. I did reload as well. Upon checking on cisco forums, folks are saying show inventory will never list the SSD as the SSD is not meant for user operations. Your video shows otherwise, ssd being listed by doing show inventory.
Are you logged into the device with a privileged user? This link also shows some of the commands I have used in this video www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=2916289&seqNum=4 - Let me know if you find a solution. Hope that helps. Thanks
Hi, how I can upload my backup configuration ASA after installation of FTD., and may I install FTD to all ASA remotely, or do I have to do it by console only?
To use ASA configuration on an FTD you would need to convert he configuration manually or by using a tool. You will need to be connected via console until the inital setup configurations have been completed on the FTD.
Please see this guide for using the firepower migration tool: www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/migration-tool/migration-guide-fps/ASA2FTD-with-FPS-FP-Migration-Tool.html I will make a note and try and produce a video soon.
Great video, I've managed to upgrade my asa 5516-x with this video. However it says it missing firmware doing boot, and I also have a "Asa5500-firmware-1118.SPA" file from cisco. I just cannot copy ftp disk0 with this? I keeps saying "Syntax error: Illegal parameter" from the CLI> I am using "copy ftp://xxxx:yyyy@192.168.2.82/ asa5500-firmware-1118.SPA disk0:/ asa5500-firmware-1118.SPA" where xxxx and yyyy is the user/password on the ftp. any ideas?

Can you comment how to upgrade cisco asa on 6.2.3 to 6.6.1 version? I dont seem to find a relevant kb on it which shows step by step process
I don't think that is a direct upgrade from what I recall. You would need to check the upgrade guides for 6.2.3 on the Cisco website.

@@NetworkWizkid Thanks a lot but could you pls upload a video regarding how I can use my existing asa configuration on FTD after installation on ASA.?
What ASA model do you have and are you intending to join the FTD to an FMC?
@@NetworkWizkid yes,we have asa 5516 and 5545....and I want ,the asa should work like FTD and can be managed through FMC ...we have 2500 fnc

Hi do you know if the ASA licensing like IDP and vpn will work on FTD ?
Licensing is different on the FTD. You would need to relicense the product.
Ok thanks for the response
How to enable http server on my laptop (where I am console to ASA) while we trying download pkg file
You'll need some sort of application on your machine in order to do that.
@@NetworkWizkid do you recommend any?
You could try this one: fenixwebserver.com/
Thank you
You're welcome, thank you for watching.
Network Wiizkiid worked like a charm :-)
Hi i need the ftd boot image, i can´t find it in softwares Cisco
Hi Oscar, thank you for watching. The image should be available on software.cisco.com alongside the FTD images, please double-check.
@@NetworkWizkid its not possible to download, because my request is pending... can you send me please?
@@FiraolAkawak Sorry! As I mentioned I do not share software. Hopefully you can get your account sorted 👍🏾.

Thank you for watching. You have a space after 'disk0', could you check to see if this makes a difference?
