Dashawn was a local at my park when I was skating all the time, he's a really nice kid. The strays over the music are hilarious af but he is genuinely a really good kid. Raised right.
About the awkward silences, here is my theory: When I watched this myself, I noticed the awkward silences usually happen after somebody fell badly in a way that will tank their score, or if somebody was already on the chopping block in terms of qualifying. I think that SLS production may have told the commentators they were not allowed to say anything bad or with doomer mentality akin to "Oh well this is it she's done" or "alright well this is over for her, rest is for the crowd" in order to gaslight the viewer into thinking things are still interesting or exciting. However, of course there is nothing actually GOOD for them to say about the situation either, so they just kinda end up in silence. Just my theory anyway
I get what you’re saying but it’s very unlikely that production would tell them to not say anything negative when someone falls, yet not have anything planned to say instead. It’s just bad commentating/awkward
@@limehawk4989 oh yeah I’m not denying they COULD have done a better job even within those confines, I just noticed this pattern enough to develop a theory.
Actually met Nyjah at a local park before. Chatted with him for a lil bit and it was just crazy. Turns out his board is enchanted with elvin magic and he’s actually never even jumped in his entire life. Right before he left he broke this kids neck in front of kids parents and then he half cab smithed the mom to death. Hella nice dude.
100% agree, SLS appears more and more rigged. Its more entertaining watching this review than the actual competition. I'll wait for your next video to see the next SLS competition.
She blasted a 5-0 on the main obstacle at X Games like it was nothing. Going so fast and looking so chill. I think the only other woman to even hit that obstacle did a noseslide. She's so rad. One of my favorite skaters, and I hope she starts filming more in the streets.
Happy for Felipe, but I thought it was strange that none of the run scores were needed to win, so anyone could've won off of best tricks alone. I feel like the previous formats required a score from the run section. Kind of makes the run section pointless imo.
100% agree. And for me personally I greatly prefer to watch runs instead of single tricks. Really shows alot more of your style and flow on the runs. Every competition out there seems to allow single tricks to end up winning it. It’s kinda bullshit.
I’m pretty sure they required one run plus three single tricks last year and years past. That’s a wayyy better scoring format even though the scoring has huge flaws regardless. Nyjah tends to bring monster runs every contest where he’s doing 3-4 more tricks total than anyone else because he can just flow so well. I agree that the runs are more enjoyable to watch too. Feel like they should get 3 run attempts, must use their best single run, then like 4 best tricks, best 2 of those. At the very least they need to require the highest run, or else it’s just a best trick contest and that lacks a lot of variety and skill. The runs become pointless if neither is required in the final score.
No. In the Olympics they had two runs and four single tricks and the best four combined counted. His best four were all single tricks. @@mclarensaleenf7
I think bigspin out of 50-50 is probably easier than doing a bigspin on flat since it's holding your wheels in place and you're already off the ground so you don't have to pop as hard.
