    Enterprise, Hertz ,company fleet etc are the reason for the amount on the road but that's no bad thing because after 1 year they enter the used car market and become a bit of a bargain.

    Sometimes it feels like Mark is choosing intentionally boring subject matter just so he has the challenge of making it brilliantly entertaining. He has never failed yet. Cheers Mark

    I think Vauxhall get a really unfair grilling by most journalists, it's nice to see you didn't complain about the 'cheap feeling' rear view mirror unlike some plastic drinks bottle obsessed reviewers.

      Because Vauxhall make very boring, cut price cars with no passion at all. Things are changing though

      @@oliverstemp9132 GM has always been Vauxhall's problem, as soon as they were free of them they were in profit almost straight away.
      They did produce some pretty good cars, the last Astra VXR had some pretty clever front suspension to counter torque steer.
      I also think the last two generations of Vauxhall haven't been half as boring as people make them out to be.

      @@oliverstemp9132 I think it looks great, it'll be interesting to see what the next Astra looks like.
      I'm really not a fan of most of the mainstream hatches currently, I think the new Golf looks awful.

    I've had my Astra since new 2018. I love it. Does the job I want it to. Why buy this instead of a Focus? BECAUSE it was £7000 cheaper!!!! Add a golf to that as well.

    Cant beat the value of an astra on the second hand market. It is unrivalled and in a league of it's own.

    Totally agree with the recommendation of the spec. I have a SRI and it doesn't have led headlamps and the normal halogen ones feel like you have some candles instead of light bulbs

    • @TL-xw6fh
      @TL-xw6fh 3 года назад +1

      LED lights are great, until you have to replace them! Just for a laugh it costs nearly £900 to replace the VW Polo LED headlamp because the led has broken! Cost of a halogen bulb -- £5.00

    • @MariusAlinDascultu
      @MariusAlinDascultu 3 года назад +1

      @@TL-xw6fh yes, I agree. BUT, the cost of halogen bulb £5, the cost of you or your family getting injured due to an accident caused because of poor visibility: priceless.

    The Golf interior really is shite unless you get a high trim level so struggle to agree. A really nice golf is a timeless classic that fits in literally anywhere. But most are a low trim level and are actually shite on the inside. Scratchy plastics and a tiny screen which really dates it.
    The average 2019 astra is better than the average 2019 Golf. The best Golf is much better but I'm not sure that matters.

    Funny how the silhouette of the disguised new ‘Astra’ ressembles almost exactly the new 308’s. So Opel don’t design cars anymore. And Vauxhall now build Peugeots instead of Opels...
    It’s got to be big VAG for me over this even though as rental vehicles Vauxhalls are perfectly inoffensive.

    Vauxhall now make the most depressing, dull cars now. The kind of cars that people who hate cars drive. VXRs have gone, all that’s left is a pile of nothing and blandness. Why anyone would by and Astra over a focus, or a corsa over a fiesta is beyond me. Horrible cars. The Astra can’t be compared to a Golf.
