I started my art journey with graphite pencils and this is where I taught myself about shadowing. I use the 4B pencil because it's easier to control the dark and light. The tools I used for shading are blending stumps, small make-up brushes, large make-up sponge with a handle and graphite powder for large areas, eyeliner smudge spunge that I cut in an angle for tight areas, and silicone clay tools which gives a very soft shade. Your face is like a blank canvas, so why not use make-up tools too. And the photos that I learned was drawing Assassine Creed characters and The Witcher in poster size. There's one character for some reason I always screwed up on (like 5 times) is Elder Scroll. I don't know his name but he masks himself like an Assassin Creed character. Patients to detail gives you a great satisfaction especially when my grandson wanted Scorpion to hang in his room. Great video. Ever tried water soluble graphite pencil? I'm learning.

Light & Shadow --- it should be a poem, with an illustration, of course. I'm 1 of the old geezerahs (feminine form) coming back to art after the soul-sucking years. What a gift RUclips is!!! Please continue to share your talent, knowledge & experience. The whole world needs it. ❤❤❤
