Thanks Lucas. Are there stand-out differences for you between the bush in southern and northern Tassie? It's this video that makes me wonder. I guess Nothofagus areas are pretty similar ( Skinner and Meander ) but I wonder if this view could easily be of the Tamar.
In all honesty, I haven't done enough low altitude forest walking in the north to make an accurate call on that. Whenever I've gone up north, I've tended to head up into the mountains. I would say this type of terrain and vegetation would be pretty common across the state though, and I can see the similarities with the Tamar.
@@LucasChamberlain In the south you're always going to have the sea closer. I was interested to read once that there's no point in Tassie further than 115kms from the sea, but that's a long way in Tassie. You've only got one kangaroo species in the state, the Forrestier and these only live up in the north-east corner. I wonder what keeps them from moving. Too wet and cold further west but why don't they migrate down to Freycinet. But further south is colder. The west of course is wet and lush, culminating in Mt Reid. And Hobart is the driest capital in Australia!
Great to see you back out there, Lucas. Hope the knee behaved! Hoping to head up Projection Bluff in the next week or so - will see if the weather plays nice …
Walking and videos again. Yay! Nice sparkly jacket too 😉
Nice to see you out in the bush again mate :)
Over the holidays I thought I had runners knee but it was just growing pains.
Glad to hear it wasn't runners knee!
awesome to see you’re back out on the trails again man!
