I have flown to LAX from Auckland around 9 time in the past 7 years, I have flown with Air NZ, United, Quantas, and Emirates. Don't have any real issue with the other airlines however I try and book all my flights to LAX with Air New Zealand due to they have always been extremely nice, and accomodating to all the passengers with anything you may need, and the flights are always so smooth upon Air New Zealand aircrafts.
@@victorjacobson4398 I would have loved to do that. The only 747 I’ve been on was on Lufthansa and it was nice. But I did a similar route with Air NZ on my South Pacific trip: LAX-Auckland and back.
@@danielhaywood641 I looked it up and I found out an Air New Zealand 787 doing this same flight had to do that, but it actually happened over a month after I took this flight. Or was there another incident before that maybe?
As a New Zealander who flew Air NZ backwards and forwards to the Uk from Auckland to Gatwick in the 80's and 90's and always supported my national airline spending over half a million dollars in today's terms doing so, I cannot be more disillusioned with the current state of service with Air NZ. I gave up flying with them in 2005 when I was able to fly Emirates. Emirates Cattle Class is equal to Air NZ's Business Class. Air NZ has gone to the dogs and if it is rated highly, then the other airlines must be in the mud
@@EnglishLawyer I’m sorry you had bad experiences with them but given that the last time you flew with them was 2005, your account of things is definitely outdated. A lot can change in 19 years. But thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
@@K4Ediamond I suppose I didn't really explain my situation and I don't suppose you could have understood the reason behind my comments. I flew Air NZ Business between NZ and Oz return in 2017 when my sister died from breast cancer. I lived in NZ and my sister lived and died in OZ. It was not frequent like I did between Auckland and London in the 80's and 90's with Air NZ. I found out Emirates was the better airline. It was never long haul with Emirates between Auckland and Brisbane. That was short haul and I was able to purchase Business Class seats and that is where Air NZ fell short in their service between Emirates and Air NZ. I am really happy you have had a great experience with Air NZ which I can only say the experience you have had with other Airlines makes Air NZ look good
@@EnglishLawyer Oh I see. Thanks for clarifying. I haven’t actually flown their business class so unfortunately I can’t say anything on it myself. This video is only covering Air NZ economy (though you may also have flown their economy, it probably isn’t as good as emirates either). That’s unfortunate to hear about their business class though. Also, I’m really sorry to hear about your sister. :( I hope you and your family are doing well, and I wish you all the best.
I am glad you enjoyed Air New Zealand. You are rights airlines in the US have terrible service and power tripping crew. Whenever I fly to the states I expect nothing but the worst from all their Airlines and they have nit disappointed as yet.
Thanks for the video. You just have to work on pronunciation of "lands down under" It's Raa-ro-tonga, not Rear-o-tonga. Also we pronounce Brisbane as Briz-bin, not Briz-bayne.😊
I fly air New Zealand reasonably often, more as a result of lack of other choices to where I fly. They are efficient and safe but horrendously expensive and you don’t get much in the way of service, even if you are on the works deluxe fare. I would call the service “sterile” and cold. I don’t enjoy flying them. Fiji Airways are way better, friendly and great inflight service. They are not that great for timekeeping with delays being common, but I would take them over Air NZ any day
Sorry for the late reply, didn't see your comment until now. I disagree with you on the service but that may be because I've flown a lot of US and European carriers, and in my opinion the service greatly exceeds that (and compared to my experience with Qantas this same month, the food was loads better on Air NZ). I've heard good things about Fiji Airways too and would love to try them. Regarding Air NZ being expensive though, unfortunately I cannot speak on that as this was part of a group itinerary where we paid a single fare for the flights, hotels, and tours all at once. Thanks for your input!
