The "almond" flavored fruit candies are called marzipan. It is crushed almond mixed with water and sugar to form a thick paste. I love these treats and I get them every holiday!
Hi! I'm French and I can tell u that I've never seen these apple candies anywhere in France, and for the goat cheese and piment d'espelette chips there are not very popular here too and I think that's a strange food combination lol. Loved the video!
jumpy's are from australia... we have the all over the place. At the school everyone would have a packet in there lunchbox the best flavour to get is chicken though!!
To all the people saying all chips are made from just potatoes, we have chips here made from all kinds of other vegetables. And we have some that's re a blend of all.
the fruit things you ate are made out of marzipan. Marzipan is a vanilla almond dough made for decorating cakes. Fake marzipan fruit is normally bought to decorate cakes and cupcakes, and is normally not eaten plain. Hope i could help
The fruits from Germany are marzipan fruits and they're pretty common in Europe. We used to have Jumpys in the UK and the French crisps are like Walkers, which is the UK crisp brand. Also the violet crumble bar you had at the end is known as a Chrunchie in the UK and it's made from honeycomb :)
OMG I LOVE those Japanese gummies that you got. When we had some exchange students years ago they got brought some over. Then my sister got some from there when she was there 5 years ago and when my brother in law goes he knows to get me those things (if i pay him for it of course!).
We have jumpys in Australia , but i think theyre owned by a different brand. Also, those "fruit cake things" are actually marzipans. You can find them in Norway everywhere.
The fruit shaped things you had were made out of marzipan. It's a very popular desert in Germany. In my town we have little ball shaped ones and the fruits usually are for special occasions as the real ones cost a lot lol. At Christmas my town gets these little chubby marzipan pigs and they're so cute but expensive you don't wanna eat then they're too cute haha. I'm in Canada an would love to have a world market, that way I could try stuff too lol but I can't :( and when I read the goat chips you had (I'm French) I laughed because I knew instantly it would be spicy hahaha
Is that really the first time you've tried Marzipan? I had those Marzipan fruits all the time as a child. Of course...perhaps it's because my mom is part German and loves almond paste.
the German "fruits" are made of Marzipan. sometimes with songecake in it. don't know if you have this in your country. if you mix almond and sugar into a paste and form it it turns to marzipan ;) if you like these, you should try "mozartkugeln" from Austria :)
Leechy nuts are very good. U just peel off the shell, eat the soft inside, save and plant the seed, or throw out the seed in the middle. They are delicious.
OH MY GOD BON BONS ARE THE SHIT! My class sold them as a fundraiser for French class and I bought most of them! They were smaller though... like the size of peas.
Those fake fruits look a lot like a kind of homemade treats we make here in Algeria, they are coated in colored almond paste and made to look like fruits and filled with crushed almond or peanuts an honey. But I guess the ones you tried were different
