    It seems, from the comments, that some are confused with what was going on. Her issues WERE NOT from botched cosmetic surgery, they were from multiple necessary medical surgeries and infections that happened after. Her abdominal wall was basically not functioning as it should, which is to give strength and proper form to the abdominal cavity area. Any fat and loose skin that was there will form around the scar tissue...and it seems she had A LOT. She also admitted that she was a smoker for an extremely long time. If she finds it hard to look at herself and find beauty after hear issues, I hope she can find it after she gets it fixed. The only one that has to stand in her skin, is her.

    Smokers recover terribly with surgeries. Poor circulation means slow healing. Slow healing means higher chance of infection or the incision coming apart. A lot of plastic surgeons will turn down patients if they are not able to put down their cigarettes while they recover. What this woman went through may not have been related to her lifestyle, but it is certainly a risk factor.

  • @idratherbeatthezoo450

    I had 1 surgery on my legs. That was supposed to be it. Then, my left leg wouldn't heal. So, they told me as long as I walked on that leg, it could snap at any time. So, surgery number 2. Same problem, number 3. Finally, number 4 was my last. I waqs supposed to have six 1 inch scars. I have nine scars, one is 4" x 2" thick on my hip, it became very infected after my first surgery and quadrupled the size of the same scar on the other side. one is over 9" long on my thigh, its pair is 2 inches long. On my left knee, I have 2 one inch scars, with a single one inch scar on the other knee. I have one on my left pelvis bone, about an inch long, where they took a bone graft. I also have a 1/2" scar under the big one. I have a horrible limp, I no longer walk normally, which gave me plantar fasciitis. During the surgeries, I was given 4 screws in my hips and knees, two metal bars put where my bone marrow used to be, which were replaced twice. I also have a metal plate on my left leg, which causes the area to be sore whenever impacted, despite most of the area to be numb. I experience pain if I put my weight on my left hip. I have 9 scars that all started out bright red. They are mostly sking colored now, but it is terribly noticible. Because of the numbness, I've been terrified to shave my legs, and still don't do it, its not like I'm wearing shorts anytime soon. All of this happened over the course of a year, while I was in 8th grade in middle school. I nearly failed because of my absences, but they passed me anyways because I tested the highest in the school. If the 4th surgery hadn't worked, I faced amputation. Great out look for a middle schooler. I'm 18 now, a senior in highschool. It has been 4 years.

    Wow this sounds so familiar. I too had a bowel resection for the same reason and my surgeon (Chief of surgery in a Boston hospital btw). Said he would make a 2 inch incision and the rest laparoscopic and I woke up with a 6 inch one that ended up opening up a month later and THEN from all the antibiotics I was constantly on, I had 2 perforations somewhere in my gut causing air and fluid to get into my body cavity. It was the worst year health wise and I can sympathize with this women.

  • @Elbaz8
    @Elbaz8 7 лет назад

    I had that! I was in the hospital for a week. I was so messed up. They put my on a drip and no food for most of the week. No surgery but the doctor told me I was in bad shape and faced that surgery. I'm so thankful that they was able to help me without that surgery. It took a very long time to heal.
    I'm glad that lady was able to get help.

      She got hernia right after the first surgery... it was so big that they had to remove it, hence the loose skin.

    • @soulflynick
      @soulflynick 7 лет назад +3

      The photo of the hernia showed a distended abdomen, but not as distended as a full term pregnancy, not even close. So my assumption is the loose skin and fat are from her pregnancies and lifestyle choices. Yes, the scarring is from all the surgeries but I can't wrap my head around the surgeries causing that amount of skin

    • @lisabaltzer3163
      @lisabaltzer3163 7 лет назад +2

    • @soulflynick

    I'm desperate to tell my story. about my botch surgery

    • @minnipearls3633
      @minnipearls3633 7 лет назад +26

      I had a thick heart muscle. So was desperate to lose my weight. So I could breathe better. I got the lap band. It slipped. It just made my stomach raw. And it made the stomach leak some in my abdomen, which I didn't know at the time. I was very sick with different stuff. Developed asma, among other things in and out of the hospital. Then went in for a check up with my stomach about the lap band. My surgeon was gone there was a different one.i told him everything I've been through and how many times I was hospitalized since the lap band was taken out. He was so nice sweet talking! No none of this had anything to do with it at all. Plus you got the okay for a gastric sleeve?? I didn't ask for that I said. I was worried about it. My asma. Which turned out that my stomach was leaking into my abdomen filling my lungs but I didn't know that. Oh he said you will be in and out in 2 days easy done and you can finish losing your weight. So I told him let me think it over and talk to my husband. So we did. And agreed to it.
      The day after the surgery I started puking. I had a 104 temp with in a week. The could never figure it out what was wrong. What saved my life was going in and out of the hospital and them draining fluid off my lungs which was from my stomach and all the antifungal meds and antibiotics. Finally I told my husband I felt like I needed to get my affairs in order. I knew I was dieing and they wouldn't be able to save me all they knew I couldn't get rid of my ammonia. Finally after 2 months on and out of the hospital my family Dr. Seen on the CT that I had a leak coming from my stomach!! They got me to a large hospital. 2 hours away which saved my life a 12 hours surgery. My stomach is all cut up lop sided. But they couldn't believe I lived. I was so dead inside. 4 Dr's worked on me. I didn't eat for over 4 month tub feed. For 3 other months I had a pick line. If I got sick or infection I could of died. I can never have another surgery on the stomach again it could kill me. I get septic with a little illness. I've spent over 3 months in the hospital in the last 2 and half years. I live in cronic pain I don't have much of a life. Most of it is on a couch or bed. I can still drive but not over 20 miles. I didn't sue because I was so sick still. And couldn't face the ass hole Dr. That did this to me. He should of seen this. He lied every time I went to his hospital. South more to the story. You can ask me anything. But I think I wrote a book! Lol thanks for listening felt great to write it down.

      Simply Emily it wasn’t cosmetic surgery. She had surgery to remove part of her colon.

    She just looks like she was very heavy at one point and/or a baby tummy. What she had to go through and caused it is shocking and horrid story and so horrid, such massive abdominal wall failures, so much scarring, pain, suffering. Bless her then they throw in the quitting smoking thing which had nothing to do with her tummy... Put that on a quitting smoking segment, not a tummy segment, lol.

    And she had a pretty tight and perky stomach for a bigger woman before the surgery. That is messed up.

    Yea because smoking played no part in your body healing badly. I'm afraid to show my future boyfriend my stomach so I found the courage to show all of America. Where is your logic woman?
