Fuck me. Best video I've seen. iKamper should have this on their website. That shot from the inside after your wife folded it in was especially brilliant. The percentage of people (including me) who struggle to close their iKamper is staggering. Hopefully this will help. Thanks.

Well *somebody* trusts their wife more than I do!
Mine would offer for me to 'get video' with the lid *closed* too...

Hi @rhino offroad. I have the same model iKamper on the exactly the same rhino rack platform. I run this setup for the last 2 years and I was never able to close it with my bedding inside! I have tried tens of different variants, it just doesn't work. My sleeping bag is not dawn, but synthetic, doesn't compress that great but still no way I could close it with pillows and the bag. You must be a magician :) So what I have ended up doing is to take out original mattresses, which are too hard anyway and put there a 4" self inflatable mattress with 9.5 R-value. I have a battery powered small air pump that let me quickly air it up and down to the suitable firmness. Only now with the deflated mattress I can keep the bag and pillows there.

I use the same kind of thing. I have a 4" self inflating mattress (I did a separate review on them). Agree with the standard mattress it would be next to impossible.

So what you’re saying is that if you can’t stuff a dead body in your closed ikamper you’re doing it wrong. 🤣🤣

How did you attach it to your rhino rack? I am installing mine soon. Skycamp 3:0 mini.

Great choice! The two rails on the bottom of the Skycamp fit perfectly in between the Rhino Rack rails

Would this work for the iKamper mini?

Thank you for the video. I wonder if this works with an iKamper mini.

The same concept should definitely apply, though obviously the space available will be a bit smaller. From what I can tell the construction of both is the same.

I’ve been having an issue with mine where after I close my IKamper the ladder seems to be rattling around while driving. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem?

@@Hondo21435 I haven't heard of that, though to be honest I'm not sure I'd hear it over my Jeep even if it was rattling. Maybe try putting a blanket over it to tighten up the fit inside the shell?
