You really see how much soma is the backbone of the podcast watching the team go silent then start talking about league as soon as he goes mia for a minute 😂 no disrespect, every member is integral to the podcast but it simply wouldn't exist without somas heavy lifting. Man has max charisma stats
I believe the key to getting more people to go to crypts from ruins, is simply giving more inventory space while in a run. The two boxes below the inventory makes it seem like they’re already working on this.
On the topic of wipe length, me and my friends aren’t even done with killing 15 lichens and 10 ghosts. Cuz one I dropped my spider silk and got it out the ghost quest was fixed and set to 10 kills and then they made the maps rotate making it even harder to get to the boss in the first place cuz only like 1 in 3 games has the right trio map. So I’m not sure how they want average players to complete those quests
I would bet 99.9% of people haven't completed the 15 lich quest. Its not a reasonable quest to do. Even if you go down to inferno every time the odds of getting lich is only 1/3. A full inferno run is about 30 minutes long. Even if you were to 100% and get a lich every time you are talking about like 7 ours straight of running lich. Not even considering the reality that you don't ever see lich and also when you run into other teams and other nonsense. The entire quest needs to be thrown out and redesigned.
its pretty viable to do.. its really not hard. you can do trio lich or duo lich. so if u go from duos/trios u can easily get lich twice in a row. its just 10 times. Maybe super casuals will struggle but 99.9% is SOOOO off brotha i know 10 people of my 15 friends that have it done. @@rekrn12345
@@rekrn12345it’s reasonable for anyone who’s playing every day but other then that just getting the quest takes time and then doing the quest damn near 90 days to do it all kinda odd
IMO they'll keep the Ruins -> Crypts -> Inferno fixture and won't revert to queuing directly in Crypts because IM's vision generally speaking is to implement a three-tiered dungeon approach.
I also feel like it's a good experience for first time players. It would be interesting to see what the numbers say on player retention across the maps.
They could make loading the quickslots a few sec animation, where you stand still or have very impaired movement. This way you cant just autoequip more utility midfight, but actually have to think about what you put in your quickslots.
Wipes should reflect the average player and their ability to quest etc. If the content creators have run out of content doesn't really reflect a need for a wipe. Repoze is a great content creator, his youtube content was awesome, but he represents such a toxic mentality that will self cannibalize the community. I am so glad they changed the leaderboards to reflect adventuring rather than murdering every other player in the match. I think getting out of a raid shouldn't lose you any AP, but I don't want the meta of streamers and content creators hunting everyone in the raid down to ever return it was miserable when it happened to you. For the sake of any possible community who might come to DaD from steam, I hope they don't get to play against us EA players for a long time until they've had a chance to get the new player experience will be crucial.
I love Donny, but it is becoming more and more apparent he doesnt really play the game anymore! This is the #1 DaD podcast and hes asking if people even use the zwei while it is currently one of the most popular barb weapons
He's the casual player. He was literally playing pickpocket Rogue last night for hours after the podcast. Jay is the amazing pro-level player, I'm the average tryhard, and Dony is the casual player. It's set up that way for a reason because it covers all the bases for the types of people that play this game. Just because he doesn't know the "meta" doesn't mean he doesn't play the game or doesn't deserve to be here.
Let's be real. All of them, minus Repoze, have taken more time off. Soma doesn't stream it anymore, Donnie probably hasn't touched the game in 4-5 months, and Jay is likely constantly burned out and has openly talked about his value as a streamer/income is entirely tied to Dark and Darker, so when he hates the game, he just doesn't stream for a few days or pushes on because he says he has to seize the opportunity while it's there since this is his only source of income. I can't really blame any of them either because Dark and Darker isn't the same game these guys grew to love in the play tests. The game can grow in a direction these guys might ultimately not like even if they agree the changes are necessarily more healthy overall. Would I expect some of these guys to continue playing this game if they weren't streamers making money off it, no, and we see it in the 2 people here who don't get paid to play it, soma and donnie. The game used to feel like a hardcore pvp gear grinder arena, but now has changed into some pseudo AP grinder that sort of actively punishes pvp. These types of games never end up the way the no life crowd hopes they will because they don't realize that there aren't that many people who will compete with them at 12+ hrs a day. If they have no competition, they get bored, or if they kill off the majority of the player base as they did pre normal lobby gear requirements, then they have no one left to support them grinding 12+ hrs a day. Hardcore pvp games naturally self-cannibalize themselves overtime for multiple reasons. I think we are starting to see it more and more in both the streamers attitudes/play rates and how the devs have shifted to optimizing the game more around lifespan for the casual audience. It's becoming apparent that Dark and Darker is a lot less enjoyable to watch with the direction shift from mostly pvp because the view numbers have tanked drastically. Even Jay is under the impression that he has already peaked and at the stage of viewership/subscriber loss. All the "new" content that the Devs want to add in future updates don't seem like they will garner a large swing back in playerbase in my personal opinion. I mean heck, the reddit has only gained maybe 8000 members since PT5, which is a MASSIVE slow down in growth of interest in the game. I think people are starting to look to cash out their chips on the game for the time being.
At about 1:02:00 I thought of the stats being linked to the training you pick when training comes out, demon slayer, goblin slayer, undead slayer. Something like that.
static merchants in dungeon that you can use gold coin brought in or found while exploring to purchase items or potions from no safe zone and merchant can be killed be stray arrows
For arenas or the test server… they should do it at the end of a wipe or for like a week after a wipe they should test and do arenas. We don’t want to split playerbase right now. Otherwise the testing won’t be a legitimate testing size
I got out from the map during the bug during pregame lobby i got into the treasure room then my homies and i jumped off the side of the map and we were falling infinitly
maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think that the current AP system has been terrible for having fun, for example I've just lost my fighter in duos for fear of losing my rank before the skin comes out, but perhaps I'm too casual.
It goes both ways though. AP actively discourages pvp participation, but without it, you will be endlessly zerged by higher geared players with more time investment over you which is also not very fun. You could argue that at a certain point, players lose interest in the AP system, thus resort back to zerging lobbies, but now has a double downside to gatekeeping player AP gains who haven't reached their end goal, as well as, deleting their kits. I do agree out of my own personal bias that the AP system is inherently unfun.
The prestige thing feels really grindy, Ive played in private wow server which had classless fantasy, and prestige system, you just burn out after some time... Gladly they had other realm in which there is just free pick. There will still come meta builds and everyone will want them, or there will be things that you will just want to test out so bad ( like double jump warmaul rogue ) , but you might never get that after 100hours. Even thinking about it makes me demotivated
They keep nurffing rogue stats which does nothing on high end. Better give stats back for survivability and nurf ambush a bit. When they nurf stats they make rogue rely on ambush even more. Give dual wild to rogue but restrict invisibility if dual wield is selected and nurf damage out of ambush make ambish be 10 speed, 10% damage and steps instead. Also I feel like all abilities and perks should have pros and cons like double jump. You get something but there is a drawback.
Feel the issue about francisca axe is Barb dont get punish by blind throw and missed all of the axe, barb can still out run you while throw axes which for me just way too stupid. Dodging axe become meaningless. it should have a hard ms reduce while throw axe.
