Hey so ..you get a lot of support online but like does your mom or parents support your artwork? Because mine seriously don't care... they're only into realism and other stuff. I'm into an anime ish artstyle but I have even tried changing it to semi for them but they still don't like it ....any insight on that? I just wanna give up drawing.
Alright, first off i just wanna say please don’t give up drawing! If you truly love doing it, I’d hate to see you give up something you care about. I’m lucky that my parents do support my art, but like yours, they only really get interested when i do realistic stuff(which i admit i kinda hate doing). The thing is, I dont see why you have to change your artstyle to something they would like? Maybe it’s because they think realism takes more effort and is better but honestly to me, a good cartoon drawing is better than a bad realistic portrait. Also, drawing to please others usually ends up pretty badly since it just makes a person want more and more approval and eventually not even like their art anymore. The important thing is to just draw what you want. Sure, you can practice realism and shading to improve your skills, but really!! I cant say this enough...*do what you want to do*. If you’re into an animeish style, do it! And i know i sound really preach-y about this, but since i went through this phase of just changing my art for other people, I wanna make sure you dont do the same.
Zain Q. Tbh i dont see it going further than a hobby for me, maybe commissions on the side? its ok to be not sure tho, im in the same boat. But drawing as a career can get pretty intense and exhausting at times, depending on what jobs you choose(especially freelance, its good to research about stuff like this) Of course you can switch jobs and majors so i wouldnt stress too much about it. :>
I'm SORTA having this problem. i don't know if it's quite the same thing, but my mum will ALWAYS say something about my art. example: yesterday I showed her a drawing I did of Grover from Percy Jackson. she looked at it and said "where's his fingers?" but she should know by know that my art style doesn't have fingers.
@@francisissleepy5300 ik that's exactly what my mom would say. Sigh they just need to figure out that it doesn't matter if they have fingers are not it's what you create right? And you love it just how it is :)
