same here! I live in Brussels and never actually took the effort to "get back into French again". but this video has inspired me so much :) merci Moya! j'ai adoré ce video. et Arthur est très mignonne. j'ai appris un nouveau manière de dire "lie in" hehe
Thanks for the nice comment🙏 some French people can be so rude or even straight up insulting if you’re French isn’t perfect or you have an accent. Glad to see supportive French people😭 had none during my exchange year
honestly your french is very good, everything was easily understable !! as for the podcast, one I really like is 'Transfert', a weekly podcast where people come to tell a story about their life : it can be about love, loss, travel, some of them are light-hearted while others can be quite dark... but overall it is so good to listen to people talking about something that changed their life :)
Je suis impressionné par ta capacité à parler français tu parle comme une vrai française i was so shocked when you said “ouais” you picked up our mannerism really fast it’s so cuuute 🫶🏾
Moya, as someone who started studying french about two years ago, I think your french is very good. The pronunciation is indeed hard, and as a portuguese native speaker, it took me almost an entire year to learn how to say the "r" correctly. What helped me (and if you allow me to give you a little advice), was to force really hard (sometimes too much) the "rrrrrrr" of the words. I used to force in a unnatural way because I did not grew up listening the french "r", because the portuguese does not have any similar sound. With some time, the sound became less strong, less unnatural and forced, easier to say. The effort is worth it. Learning a new language is beautiful - hard, but beautiful. It was hard for me in the beginning, and now I'm studying to become a translator myself. You're great! Love you!
This video is so inspiring! I was having online italian classes but i was quite frustrated and discouraged but you really made me realize how important is to believe in ourselves! Thank you, moya!
Moyaa, you already seem so fluent in french, atleast to have daily conversations. So proud!! and soon you'll be able to have deeper conversations too.💗💗
This was so impressive! As someone who took French for years in school but hasn’t used any of it since this was such a fun way to test what I have left ❤
I just stumbled upon your channel and binged all your Paris videos. I‘m from Germany and love France and the french language so so much. I just listened to this blog without watching while hanging my laundry and I understood everything you said! I think your french is very good, especially your sentence building and the grammar. Sure, you have an english accent, but that will change the longer you speak. But grammar and structure of your speech, so so good! 🥰
Je suis impressionnée par ton niveau de français!! Ton accent est super mignon mais il ne nous empêche pas du tout de te comprendre, ne t’inquiète pas et continue à parler français!! :)
So beautiful to see the little corners and local finds from Paris. And cheers to you on the great efforts of doing a video in french! Not easy and you killed it❤
Moya! Thank you so much for making these half english half french vlogs. I’m hungarian, but kinda at the same level in french as you, and learning from your videos is so much fun🫶🏼🫶🏼
A French podcast I rly like is Iced Coffee Break with Superlumos. I’m not French and I find the topics he talks about, and the vocabulary he uses, very easy to follow. ♡
Amazing Moya! I relate so much to not being able to express myself when speaking in French but this video has inspired me so much to just push through it. Can't wait to see more videos like this.
this was so inspiring! so impressed that you can even describe your days and understand what others say to you. love the honesty and courage of this video, i've always wanted to move to a spanish speaking country for this reason and this was so encouraging.
BRAVO POUR CETTE VIDÉO🤍 I did the same video one week ago on my channel but in english because I’m French (living in Paris) so I really enjoyed yours because I know how hard it is to do a whole video in another language, congrats xxx
I LOVED this video. I have been learning French for a year (on Duolingo) and when I try to immerse myself in the language through videos, everyone talks so fast and with a true French accent and I struggle to understand. Luckily, even though you for sure know more French than me, you speak slowly enough for me to understand and use a lot of words that I already know. Please make more videos like this. J'adore cette video! Et merci!
I relate so so much as someone who moved to Spain in January of this year and have the same relationship with Spanish. Love language learning, but it’s definitely a looong process! Reassuring to know that I’m not the only one ❤
Moya thank you for inspiring me to learn french, i'm currently in dilemma to learn the language because i have a 9-5 job and got no time. But, seeing you taking a courses online and be able to speak the french well it's motivate me. And not to mention, you have a very supportive friends. Bisous!
I've been learning French for 5 years at school, and I can understand you, but to speak as ur doing is still so hard for me. So, for a person who's been studying French for half a year ur doing great. And I'm also rlly glad to see a vlog with the same French level I can comprehend💞💞💞
i lob u Moya 🩷 i am new to ur channel and yet i enjoy watching u a lot already ! i admire u for the progresses that are happening in ur life lately i am proud of uuu
hearing you speaking french as an french girl is so amazing an impressive , you're doing so good! Also a really good french podcast would be " A bientot de te revoir" i think it could teach you a lot about french humor and everyday vocabulary! Love you
aah! your videos have literally inspired me to bite the bullet and move to Paris after my Erasmus instead of returning back to Dublin, so seeing yous having your little food date near my workplace is so surreal!
I’ve been watching your videos since you arrived in Paris and I must say your French is getting better!! Takes a lot of courage to do a full video in French I was low key wondering when you were going to take the leap of faith and do it! Anyway love the content and congrats ✌🏼🇨🇦
Moya!!!!! J’adore cette vidéo. Your French is so good and it’s so nice that you have lovely French friends to help you as you go. Imagine looking back on this vlog when you’re fluent and seeing how far you’ve come. Would love to see more of these.❤ Sending love from the south of France.
some things I would (humbly) recommend based on my experience of having to learn another language because of moving for work- speaking with a good flow/pace, not defaulting to a question inflection when unsure about word choice or grammar, and not backtracking to correct every single mistake are the best ways to get people to respond in the same language and accept you as proficient. All these things are hard! But worth it. Having a decent accent helps a lot too. Some people have great theoretical knowledge but can't let go enough to speak freely, and when your primary goal is daily life in a different language, being able to communicate understandably is more important than flawless grammar or a creative vocabulary. I'm not an expert but this works for me :) edit to add that you are doing a great job!!! speaking in public takes guts and you're diving in headfirst :) I predict you'll look back on this in a year and see how far you've come
Love your videos Moya! I really enjoyed this one as I just started to learn French. It’s such a beautiful language and I hope to get as fluent as you someday 😄
thanks for sharing your journey and this video made me learn a few more words in French! Like you I studied it in middle school and decided to start studying it again as it's pretty important for the career I want to pursue + it's pretty easy to learn it as an Italian. What you have done is incroyable as it's so difficult for non neo-latin language speakers. You do inspire me to work more and more on my French and I actually hope to meet you when I'm travelling to Paris in august.
Loved this video!! Really hope you make more vlogs in French, I’ve been living in France for a while now and this made me realise how much French I know and understand but have been too scared to use in every day settings with fluent French speakers due to a fear of saying something wrong or being embarrassed of my accent so I would prefer to speak in English, but this has definitely made me want to make more of an effort ❤️
Moya “my french is not good” also moya : speaks french without any difficulties Vraiment tu es totalement compréhensible moya ! on s’en fiche que ce soit plus lent que les français qui parle couramment Tu parles très bien et cette vidéo était tres sympa Prends confiance en toi t’es au top💕 Pour le podcast: contre soirée de anna rvr c’est une influenceuse donc tu auras vraiment le langage courant! hey! as a french i can say that your french is really good for a intermediate/beginner, keep doing your vlogs, they are the best ;)
You've got some dedication when it comes to learning a new language. I heard French can be confusing, but we all know you can do it.
