Lets be honest. Phantasm fits filppy/canon filppy more. Modern sonic having fleetway sonic as the evil side doesnt really make sense. Fleetway sonic only exists in another sonic universe. But both original phantasm and this cover are good.
Okay, I shouldn’t be angry at this since this is a opinion and you can say whatever, but I’m just going to say my thing, the song phantasm is suppose to be a reference to the Archie comics of sonic, where the chaos emeralds would bring out sonic’s anger, fear and uncontrollable ruthless mood since having to much chaos energy would make you go crazy, so this was suppose to be like a split personality that sonic was having and it only comes out from the emeralds, this “evil super sonic” would do the things sonic wouldn’t do since his moral code or some shit, but if you want to learn more about him, you gotta search up fleetway sonic and you’ll find some websites talking about him
