This has become a very popular chess computer for several excellent reasons: It is well designed. The Lang program it comes with is very tough and super easy to use, with an intuitive menu system. It is updated on a regular basis with free updates that don't require an engineering degree to understand. The new King program is very challenging. The C-Link allows you to connect the board to your iPad or Android to use them as the computer. I have mine connected to my iPad, using Hiarcs as the program. It is very easy. For about a total of $800, this absolutely destroys the crazy expensive (and poorly designed) DGT Revelation II for ease of use and adaptability. This is easily the best chess computer on the market today. This is designed for chess player who want to focus on playing, not on computer science. DGT seems to be focused on the computer, not the player.
Hi Martin! Thank you for your kind feedback. We are happy to hear that you like our products. You are right: our goal is to create high-quality and entertaining products at reasonable prices. There's more to come! Your team from Millennium
Thank you for your reply. "There's more to come!" Any hints? There was some discussion awhile ago regarding a larger size board, like the old Mephisto Munchen, with a more advanced computer. Is that something in the works? Thanks!
Hi Martin, we are in the process of providing new functions for the Chess link as soon as possible, e.g. a connection for playing online. Of course we also have nice ideas for other products. It remains exciting. Promise! Subscribe to our newsletter on www.computerchess.com and we'll keep you informed. Your team from Millennium
Hey Josh, Thx for the reply. I bought a Novag Emerald rated 2181 from the USCF 30 years ago for about $180 bucks and it works great .I realize that 30 years ago we did not have the technology that we do today and with the updates and internet capabilities it does make these machines exciting but , ( again ) with today's technology they should be able to make a strong chess computer that looks nice a little more cost effective ..it is a beautiful board though
I’m sure it’s great, but we have had electronic chess games/computers since the late 1970s. I had one of the first which was the fidelity chess challenger (about $300 if I recall) I then played on a $50 Tandy 1650 which was better and I have a radio shack 1750L in front of me right now which I think was around $60 and it plays tough. These and other similar ones, as well as the free chess apps for download, provide everything needed to keep most chess enthusiasts happy. I checked an online price for this chess genius executive and found it priced at $600! Is there really a market today for an electronic chess game that costs that much?

I bought this board and chesslink bluetooth link. I love the automatic piece recognition. Millennium ChessGenius Exclusive's Automatic Piece Recognition is reassuring technology - better concept than the pressure sensitive sensor design, say, of the less costly King Performance model. Just one question: Are there other chess sets available as an alternative option to the default set?
I am not sure if I have understood your question correctly. There is an another set in tournament size, but with the same technology: The Supreme Tournament 55. For more information please click here: computerchess.com/en/supreme-tournament-55-2/
@@millenniumchess Thank You. Sorry I wasn't clear. For example, DGT e-boards can be purchase with a number of chess set options from "Classic" "Royal" "Venus" "Timeless" and "Official FIDE (2013)" Some cost more than others - but all work with the e-board. I was just wondering if the Millennium Chess Genius board offered different styles of chess pieces, say from classic to modern. The tournament size set that you allude to sounds like an option, but I'm gonna guess that must be purchased separately. In any case, I appreciate your prompt response (I was just slow in seeing your reply until now).
@@gumshoeless5949 We are planning on offering different styles of pieces in the future, but unfortunately at the moment we don't have them yet. I have been playing with chess computers since they first hit the market in the late 1970's. I have had many of them, including the best of each time period. I am a chess enthusiast, who loves a good game. I want a chess computer with intuitive controls so it is easy to use. I want to focus on the game, not the machine. While I am not affiliated with any manufacturer, I do think the Millennium ChessGenius Exclusive is a real bargain. They sell for between $600 - $700. I got mine on sale for $600. That includes the board, the pieces, the computer module with the Richard Lang program, and unlimited access to the software upgrades. That's quite a lot! I think I paid about that for a Mephisto Exclusive with the Polgar program back in the mid 1980's. I guess its value depends on what you're comparing it too. Small plastic sets are available for much less. The plastic DGT board sells for about $450, but that doesn't include the computer. The DGT Pi is another $300 or so, and it is designed for computer users. It is not intuitive. You could connect the DGT board to your PC and use one of several programs for it that way. Just realize the DGT board registers your move, but it has no lights to show you your computer opponents response. The Millennium board is a throw back to the Mephisto line during the golden age of chess computers in the 1980's. (Which isn't surprising, considering who is behind Millennium!) They have taken the best from that period and updated it with piece recognition, faster processor, stronger program and available module upgrades. Frankly, for the money, I really think there's no comparison.
It's being sold now at Amazon for $359.40 though you might want to know that the "brushed gold plate" is said to actually be cheap plastic that peels off! (Why they would do that makes no sense and is a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned.)
This is not well designed a bit small compared to tournament boards and that chess link they could include it in the board instead of buying it separately and charging customers a lot of money for it.
