  • In this video Steps for the determination of absolute configuration of a chiral molecule represented by Fischer projection have discussed. For the clarification few examples with one and two chiral centres have been discussed.

    Why is OH GIVEN FIRST PRIORITY NOT COOH????

      In OH, atom attached to the chiral center is Oxygen while in COOH, atom attached to the chiral center is Carbon. Since, oxygen has higher atomic number than carbon, so, OH is given priority over COOH
