Hey I hope you ok in there, also that's fine everyone work at their own pace. it's actually more of for people who just spend it all on wants and parties rather than on needs
One big thing that helped my husband and I was creating sinking fund accounts. We have a savings account for each category. Categories are thinkgs like activities, utilities, car insurance (I pay mine all at once), vacation, energemcy, gifts, subscriptions, etc. It's especially helpful for gifts, as we save up a year in advance and stick to what we planned on spending. The hardest for me is not esting out. It used to be really bad, but we're trying to limit it to $100 or less per month, if at all.
Yes, I've been doing this too. It frees up your current income for paying off debt once the funds are set aside for utilities, food and other bills in advance. Big stress reducer.
Yes! We cut eating out to once per pay period with a max budget on each occasion. And we make it an occasion! We try not to do carry outs unless it's the rare pizza.
As I get closer to retirement, I’ve been thinking more seriously about how to structure my monthly budget. It feels overwhelming trying to account for inflation, unexpected expenses, and making my savings last.
That’s a great point! I’m also trying to figure out how to balance my spending with my long-term savings. I have some cash set aside, but with inflation soaring again, I worry my money won’t stretch as far as I’d hoped. Retirement planning feels so much more complicated than it used to be.
I’ve been semi-retired for a few years now and only work about 7.5 hours a week. I’ve managed to grow my investments after a tough portfolio loss in 2020, but I’m still about 25% short of my $1 million goal. Having a clear monthly budget has been key for me, but I know I need expert advice to stay on track

Food leftovers are remade into meals or snacks. Buy fruit as snacks ex buy 9 Apples and Pears and Oranges. Morning break Fruit & water Afternoon break Fruit & water, evening snack Fruit & water. You will feel so much better when working alot. You will be able to digest what you eat and have clearer thinking. You will see all money you didn't spend still in your wallet.😊 So buy groceries .
Probably the most important thing you can learn from them is everyone needs to do personal budgeting. It doesn't matter how detailed it is or how simple it is. But everyone needs to do it to get full control of their money. And by simply doing this one thing, majority of the people will naturally see where they spend their money and feel bad about impulses. And they'll naturally tone down or reconsider impulses. And if they simply do this before they snowball into horrible debts, then they'll never need to work 3 jobs.
Honestly you don’t even need food skip it too one meal per week maybe honestly every other week also if you work three full time jobs you won’t need a home to live in cause you’ll always be at work so you’ll save money on rent as well sleep is a social construct you don’t need it
Right that threw me off you really only need basics and stop living above your means most people don’t need three jobs that’s crazy just need to know hat you have coming in and know what’s going out
Another thing that helps with doing a budget is minimize every and any bill you can. For me it was my phone went from T-Mobile to Mint mobile (even though they are now the same company) and car insurance. (Paying the 6 months in full)
As for car insurance, keep shopping around for the best rates. Or if you live in a state that allows and you save up enough money to do so, make your insurance payment zero. It’s called “self insurance”
I did that and it works! My full bill was pretty much cut in half by switching to my internet provider. I also went a head and paid my renter’s insurance up for the entire year and my car insurance is almost paid so I won’t have to worry about it until July. With that money that would normally go towards car insurance, I’m rolling it over to my car loan so I can get that paid off by June. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to go out and work a second job, so I cut as many expenses as I could. I literally freed up an extra $100 each paycheck.

Not only did I do that, but I spent all the cash I'd brought with me. This, I also used to pay my family dentist for the final restoration. Luckily everything's paid off and I'm on track for a no-spend September. I keep a buffer of 1100$ in my bank at all times, it's enough to cover my largest expense so I don't have to be surprised or worried I didn't plan properly. This is separate from the emergency fund as that's in a savings account. Each paycheck the account gets put to 1100$ and anything left over from last paycheck goes towards debt. She is right. A lifestyle can cause you to go into debt. Although some may see this advice and completely give up at the words "make a plan and stick to it and get additional jobs." You can do it. I did it to create a retirement fund and so I could save cash to buy a house nearly outright so if I had to go on unemployment benefits for any period of time, my electricity, my house note, insurance, vehicle and food would be covered and if need be, I could live off my savings by being frugal for 6 months. You can save for 3/4 of the price of a home in 10 years and only need to finance 5 to 10 years. I bought my home at 30, and it's nearly paid off completely at age 40. By taking care of my necessities first and not having more than 1 credit card for gasoline purchases only and paying cash for everything else, I've stayed out of debt, have a high borrowing power and that was all against the advice of credit karma trying to get me to run with 7 credit cards in my wallet. This is what I did to pay off Sallie Mae! That and prayer! It was the Lord who gave me courage to keep going even when I wanted to give up!! Now that’s one less debt I have to worry about
I disagree with her suggestion of getting 2 more jobs and working night shifts. I'd say the best thing to do is budget & stretch your money. And if you want to make more, just do OT or pick up extra shifts at your current job.
I love the Ramsey Show and their concept but working on weekends and at night? I know paying off your debt is crucial but health is more important. My mental health wouldn’t do that for two months…
Yeah, the extra jobs sound great and all, but where in all that can I fit in my daily household duties, time with my pets, my meals, & BASIC THINGS IN NEED TO DO TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE? 😅
Yeah and for people who have kids? Look, i did the whole work 2 part time jobs to pay for full time college because my parents were not well off and i was lazy the first half of high school but i was dying from that. Litterally dying. I got average 4-6hrs of sleep daily for 3 years and have 0 time for enjoyment. Not only that but for example i quit school and just focused on one of those jobs. Got promoted to a manager of a seafood department at a mom and pop store, wife graduated college, couldnt find a job where we lived, so she got a good one in the next state over. My boss helped me get into the company i am in now and i make $34/hr as a meat department team leader. That being said, my schedule is random every week. There would be no way to plan for a second job. Some days i work 4am-12pm, some 7am-3pm others 2pm to 10pm. Or i will cover my TM days off if they need a different one than typical. Its impossible to plan.
I literally hate when people say “you’re going to get two extra jobs and you’re gonna work weekends and nights, etc.” it’s unreasonable for people who have families. You’re saying you’d rather them be at work than be with their families. I believe you don’t have to sacrifice family time to pay off debt. Just my $.02
Yes. It’s for people that are up to their eye balls in debt and also can’t figure out how to shake it. Obviously if you have a plan and some common sense then maybe you don’t need 3 jobs.
It’s unrealistic if you don’t make enough for your minimum needs. If you have a family that’s a likely scenario for you. You also can’t take 2 extra jobs if you are already working on Sunday. Maybe just a night job but not too intense because you need to be rested for the next day of work. It sounds so doable but truly it’s impossible for many
@@tammyturowski6703 of course it isn’t healthy. lol. You can want to get out of debt but in order to do so you have to first make enough to cover your minimum expenses.
This is just sad. European schools are MUCH cheaper sometimes free even no need to really even go into debt. Justify debt by saying « work harder ! » meanwhile everyone i know works insane hours and are still in debt. What makes more sense is universal healthcare and lowered tuition rates. Its works out great for a lot of other countries.
There’s no way I could work two jobs let alone three being a single mom with a little baby and no help from anywhere outside of when he’s at daycare when I work my full-time job for the city
It's really hard being a single mom and your baby needs you outside of your full time job. It's hard having no or little support system, too! Been there! Prayer said for you.

This is what I did to pay off Sallie Mae! That and prayer! It was the Lord who gave me courage to keep going even when I wanted to give up!! Now that’s one less debt I have to worry about
When you are retired you can't get extra jobs. I have a cap as to how much I can make.
Lol okay 👌
It sounds so doable but truly it’s impossible for many
Alot of people do it
This is for ppl who want to get out of debt and sacrifice to do so. Raising a family in debt isn't healthy either. Pick one
@@tammyturowski6703 of course it isn’t healthy. lol. You can want to get out of debt but in order to do so you have to first make enough to cover your minimum expenses.
Sounds like horror
So does debt at 30%
When you experience nepotism and daddys money you dont experience what everyday working class Americans experience
Two extra jobs? They are crazy
Add 2 more jobs on top of those 3 jobs. Dont sleep and don't even eat.
Do the opposite of what rich people tell you.
If the Ramseys tell you to write a budget, hire a CPA.
If Warren Buffett says buy ETFs, buy fine art instead.
If Mr. Wonderful says acting your wage is being a loser, quit and find a new career where you are fairly compensated and valued.
Take out the stuff and leave only the S.T.U.F
And who takes care of your kids as a single mom with no family when you’re working 3 jobs. Enlighten me
Here I am keeping peoples electricity on making $725 a week
I do not agree with this thinking. What is the purpose of working? It is about balance of enjoyment and working.
Is it really that easy for americans to get a second or even third job?
How do you get family members to stop asking you for money so one can pay off debt without causing drama??
Tell them the truth - you don’t have the money. If you had the money you wouldn’t be in debt. There will be drama but it’ll be more peaceful having your stuff together
@@CloudslnMyCoffee true but sadly that’s not deemed “broke” in there eyes 🥺🥺☹️. But that what I’ll tell them anyway. Thanks.
Set a budget for them too, and stick to it. All you want you can have - but with your own money. Maybe guide them how to make more, if old enough
Tell them no. You aren't a bank.
Asiff you do that 😂😂NOT😂😂
Lol... and work 80 hours a week.
You need to point ppl in the right direction to 100k to 500k a yr job so they don't have to work 3 jobs 7 days a week. That's what yall don't do. I can't keep working at KFC for 45 yrs plus 2 more jobs. Show me the money. Where the job that pays over 100k
It’s not enough if you have a family of kids
Where's your degree/ skills and work ethic? Show me that. I work in customer service. I have a specialized skill but it's not that a hard of a skill. It's a tipped base business. And I also side hustle and I gross about 95k a year. But I'm essentially working everyday to some degree. Even if it's side hustle. It'd not the easiest path to 100k but without a degree you're gonna have to put in the hours
@@2332Stephen 100k is not enough if have 4 or more kids.
A friend of my family created a very strict budget than he became rich. Guess what he died alone and he never knew how to enjoy life 😑 because “save money for the future”…
2 or 3 extra jobs! Get real!
These extra jobs seems excessive, mental health is important too!
U think someone in debt living paycheck to paycheck is mentally healthy
@@tammyturowski6703 😆😆😆
Rachel, I've tried without success to get in my Everydollar app.I was using it and had a health issue that took months to get over. Would you please help me?
Gail vaz-oxlade is similar to this except she allows a little leeway for life fun because it up's the chance of success even if its just 50 bucks a month
I tell myself every month that this month is the month I’m gonna do it. I have never been able to do it. I literally need to pay somebody to take my money and put it away. As long as the money is there, I allow myself to eat whatever I want and nourish myself with anything I’d like at all times and justify it by me working every day, showing up for myself and owning a business. No matter how much money I make it is always gone by the end of the month whether it’s a $10,000 month or a $4000 month it’s gone. Single no kids no car payments no medical debt no school debt non-drinker non-smoker.
