Fear grows for some in CA as immigration arrests now allowed in schools

  • "What's going to happen [to my children] if I get deported?" That's the fearful question that Laura Hernández and many other immigrant families have as the Trump Administration cracks down on undocumented immigrants in the U.S. The latest order threw out ICE guidance from 2011, now allowing federal immigration agencies to arrest immigrants at sensitive locations such as schools, courthouses, churches and hospitals. This means that officers are no longer required to get approval for operations at said locations.
