@@Marleysdad808 I think I 15 when I got mine. My Dad made me put it together myself with his supervision. I must have enjoyed it as I’m still building all these years later.

20 years ago i called you guys up on the phone when i had a hobby shop and asked if you guys would re pop the r RC10 kit. your words were "we will never remake the RC10". yet here we are!
I still have my original RC10.. Thank you Team Associated 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁. My friend Kenny and I built the first track in our area. Then when I got popular, the Hobby shop, adults came in and took it over from us kids.
I was an incredibly lucky child to have a Grandfather that was very into RC racing. I got my first RC10 when I was 6. Just this evening, my Grandfather and I dug out my car and several others. Now we can rebuild our old and new!
Bought my RC10 kit #6016 in 1989 at twelve years old. That was the kit with the Yokomo stock class 05 motor, servo wiper throttle and ball-bearings. Installed Futaba electronics and eventually upgraded to a Novak ESC. Even Rit dyed the suspension arms because black was the thing in the newer kits. Of course I sold it sometime in my late teens, doh, but now I can buy another one, yippeee!
Saved up all my money 1991/1992 for an RC10 with bushings, couldn’t hold out any longer to save for bearings! Loved it and still fondly remember staying up all night with my buddy putting it together.
My first rc was a Tamiya Hornet in 1984 and when it came time to get my first racing buggy, I got the 1987 Kyosho Ultima, even though I lived 15mins from Team Associated’s HQ. After waiting 40yrs, it’s time to settle some unfinished business. I can’t wait to get one of these.
I would love them to do some of their Nitro cars in the Anniversary series. RC500 with a 2 speed and 4WD kit would be awesome. I would be in the line with a bucket of cash. Back in the day I had a RC10, RC12 and a RC500 4WD.
Still got the one I bought when they first came out in Feb 85 sitting out on a shelf in the garage. Plus all those cool motors, motor controllers, ancient NiCads battery packs with chargers and discharge resistors not to mention a small fortune in aftermarket ball-diff's. Wow. That takes me way back.
Had a RC10 Team Car, came with the stealth transmission standard. Black anodized chassis. Raced it for years then rebuilt it with a new florescent green painted chassis, and put it in storage. Still have it.
I hope a regular production version materializes. Anyone growing up in the 80s that was into rc has such great memories of the RC10. It would be great to have one or two to actually run and not want to keep on a shelf. I had later models but never the original. Such an iconic buggy that still looks awesome 40 years later! Thank you!
@@Shellbackrc Not the actual one, but one I pieced together over time. Fiber double deck. Probably not real accurate--you remember how tough it was to get info back then lol
I don't know why they ever stopped making these. To this day I still think they were the best R/C car ever made. About as close to indestructible as it gets. When I was a kid there were Tamayia and the RC10. I had 2 or 3 Tamayia cars and they all broke. The only thing Tamayia had going for them was the manual speed controller was a lot better. I never really needed an electronic speed controller in the Tamayia cars, but you did in the RC10. The manual speed controller was a POS. I ran the hell out of my RC10. Burned up a few ESC's but the car never broke. Jumps, walls, flips, it took everything and kept on going. I wish I still had it.
Unfortunately I started in professional kits with Losi JrX Pro. 1990 we started D&D Racing In Eveleth,Minnesota. D&D Racing has made the switch to Associated and its been a pleasure.Thank you
I did the Andy's Monster Truck conversion many years ago and was always 1st or 2nd place in the Modified Monster Truck category. It was always a blast to race and tune. Still have it stored away. May update it and have some fun when I retire soon. God Bless all the RC fans that enjoy this great hobby of ours! Pretty soon these will be the only cars we can afford to buy and repair! Actually, it is true now!
I have one and I I kicked ass with this car still have but I retired it but all it needs is a battery and it's ready to kick butt I have not raced it years so many great runs with it .
I would get one, but I still run my '85. Still have the box. 😆 During COVID I got a new nicad 7v battery because the original wasn't charging very well...after almost 40 years.
I'm pumped for this and I pre-ordered one. This is what many of us have been waiting for. Hopefully the clear body is not all scuffed up like the RC10CC from the way it was packaged.
Bust out those old molds and start putting out all these great kits again. Been wanting to race my worlds rere again but not at current ebay parts prices if I happen to break something lol.
I remember begging my parents for an RC-10 when they hit the market in Canada... Was too expensive, and I ended up with a Sears RC buggy that looked similar.
The gold car is neat but the black chassis with the wide front arms and stealth transmission is the one to re-re and run. That one was track ready and could keep up with modern cars at the club level IMO of course. I think it was called the CE ( Championship Edition)
Will this have on-going parts support? Because lack of parts are what is keeping a lot of local club racers at my track from even buying these. We want to race them, but sourcing parts without buying an entire second kit is almost impossible.
I'm very happy to see you guys releasing this great buggy once again. I still have one that I bought around 2005 from a model shop in the US and shipped it to the UK! I did originally race one back in the late 80's too. Absolutely one of the best RC buggies ever! 👍
Hope to be able to buy the kit here in Germany. According to German distributors, only extremely few RC10 Anniversary kits will be delivered to Germany. Why ? America first ? I bought the RC10 Clear Edition and would like to buy this version too. A "normal", non-limited version + spare parts would also be nice to use the car in the increasingly popular vintage races. Not all enthusiasts just want to put the car on the shelf.
Please make a lot of spare parts so us guys that have original RC-10's can bring them back to life and keep them running for another 40 years.. I have an A stamp Edinger and a B stamp Cadillac.
Finally! Please never discontinue the RC10!! It runs great on these outdoor loose dirt 1/8 tracks that have become so popular.
Got my RC10 for Christmas in 1984 and 40 years later, I’m still participating in the hobby. AE for life! 😎
That’s when I got mine. I still have it. It was my last car too, I was into bikes.
Damn bro, we got the same present on the same day. Took me like 2 weeks to build it back then as a 10 year old.
