namastE, My father used to tell me what you wrote as your first sentence, but I used to argue against him because I thought that his opinion was "essentialism." As a left-leaning person, and as a Gandhian, I did not like essentialism, because I believed humans are all in essence the same. Now after 75 years of living among all sorts of people, I realize that there are differences. And some of the differences are essential -- meaning, in the essence. I am not saying that good people are all from one community. But I do believe that certain communities tend to have certain qualities more abundantly than others. One example: Jewish people have a love of learning that I have seen only among Brahmana-s. There are other examples also such as Italian culture gives so much important to refined dining. Thanks for being bold enough to validate "essentialism," a politically incorrect belief system nowadays.
