From P3, you usually don't win at Monaco. It only worked out because Ferrari did Ferrari things again on Sunday, but Perez couldn't have known that on sunday. Checo should leave that backstabbin fraud of a team and fanbase. A lot of fans claim it now but its absurd. Not only that. If it was true then both the FIA and RBR are now eligble for fraud. The FIA checks the qualification and the race after every event. You want to tell me that some Reddit amateurs could find a case of cheating but the FIA didn't? and if Checo told RBR that he did something (deliberate crash) which comprised the race of others, that could've resulted in a lifetime ban, it would mean that RBR held back information. They only complain now because it affected Max's legacy, meaning they were okay with cheating. Now the season actually makes sense. Perez went from Legend for RBR fans to how can we collectively catch him cheating. Somehow some amateurs on Reddit could find Perez cheating but the FIA couldn't make a proper case to punish Checo. They should check the Dutch GP as well.

The giveaway to Verstappen's lie is the 'are we clear about that?' Line. Implying that something had been discussed earlier. No. Verstappen was pissed at having been passed by Hamilton, despite doing his utmost to engineer 'a racing incident'.. His last outburst of this nature was in the season's opener when he said over the radio "never again ask me..." On that occasion nobody suggested Checho's spin and engine failure was engineered to take Hamilton out. We'd have been consigned to loony land, which is precisely where Verstappen goes when things don't go his way.

    • @davidleonard6285
      @davidleonard6285 Год назад

No, imposible. If you want to exit of a corner with better traction - acceleration, you need to do a late apex and that in Mónaco its impossible because you only have one correct line. 2:16-2:18 Watch it frame by frame and you'd see that he was going almost 10kmph slower.
At 2:18 you can see that on his normal lap he was at the corner already. In his crashed lap, just before he blipped, he was not at the apex yet. He braked a bit more.
I just think he blipped to compensate for that mistake. He would have wanted to improve on his lap surely and he would have sensed that the car was slowing down faster than he expected.
Also, right after the blip, you can see that he is braking hard, he realises that he has made a mistake.
    ..
I find no reason for him to do this. That too so far ahead in the season.

In my opinion at the second attempt, he tried to pull up in the T8 exit but he stepped on the gas more than usual by the pressure to compensate the wrong entry. That was my initial thought too. But you don't correct that by slamming the gas pedal at full throttle. That's just 100% chance of spinning, and a pro driver knows it better than me. There are extremely rare situations where you might need to do that, and force wheelspin to correct a trajectory, but first: you do it right on or slighly after the apex, not before. That is not a move to correct an early or slow entry. Second, if you want to powerslide you need to apply a LOT of countersteer. Again, a pro driver perfectly knows this, and Checo doesn't even try to save it.

A lot less powerful RWD car will do that without traction control. You can watch how patiently and carefully he applies throttle on exit on his first run (same as all the other 19 drivers - watch Leclerc pole lap). If that throttle slam was a genuine mistake then it is one of the most rookie mistakes I have ever seen in F1. Ok so here’s my take on it. (I’m not supporting Max or Checo or Hamilton or Leclerc or whoever you think so that you know I am not biased or whatever). In the crash lap, Checo goes into the corner with a speed 76. In the normal lap he is entering with a speed of 86. What is the difference? He pressed the brakes too hard after accelerating too much on the small straight leading to turn 8. If you watch the steering wheel, on the crash lap the steering wheel is turned more to the right than the normal lap. Reasons for this? When going into a corner, the more speed you have the easier it is to turn the wheels. So, in the crash lap it is natural that he turned the steering wheel more, knowing that it would take more “turning” to make the wheels face the direction that he wants to so that he can get a clear exit. Nothing abnormal here. However, when he goes into the corner there is a slide prior to the full acceleration (watch very closely). Is this because he accelerated too suddenly? I do not have the technical knowledge to answer that. What we do know is that the throttle was almost at 100% prior to the spin. Why can this be? If he accelerated too hard into the corner, then there are high chances that he is gonna hit the right wall with the angle that his steering wheel is turned to. Right before throttle to 100%, he turns his steering wheel to the left, knowing that otherwise he would crash. To get out of the situation and quickly turn left you need to press the pedal hard. Now I know how delicate these drivers are and do not usually make mistakes. How you interpret is upon you. But know that Latifi crashed in the formation lap. (Just funny so I put it there). Whether you think Max deserves to act that way or not is up to you. This is my analysis on the situation

Just checking, you are all aware that the onboard telemetry isn’t properly synced to the cars, aren’t you?
A major annoyance with the broadcasting at the moment is that when the World Feed switches from a trackside camera looking at a driver to the onboard camera of that driver, the onboard images are delayed?
The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that when the director changes from showing trackside camera looking at a car, or 2 cars battling, to going onboard with 1 of those drivers, you appear to jump back in time slightly as the onboards have a delay in them, whilst annoyingly, the telemetry they display either on the Halo, or just on screen, isn’t delayed, so the telemetry data doesn’t match either the sounds of each downshift, or the pictures showing the rev lights on the steering wheel & the display of what gear the car is in on the wheel.
The telemetry data is ahead of what we are hearing & seeing on the steering wheel, showing the driver accelerating before they actually are accelerating, and the gear display graphics are wrong compared to what the car is actually doing.
A few years ago, while Riccardo was with Renault, he touched another driver at turn 4, just as we see the contact from the trackside camera, and a piece of carbon fibre begin to flick up, the director cut to being onboard Ricciardo, which due to the delay in onboard pictures) showed the contact begin again.
Having made those points, I’m not saying that the telemetry display explains away Perez’s qualifying crash, however, you must bear in mind that it isn’t properly level with the actions of the car. Neither here with @yelistener’s improvised graphics, or the official FOM telemetry graphics.

from my personal observations i personally think this is what happened
in the first lap perez' apex speed was 86 kmh
on his second lap, perez slowed down to 77 kmh even before hitting the apex, at which point he blipped the throttle
my assumption is he either felt some understeer and wanted to shift the balance of the car slightly, to turn it in better. or that he wanted to get some more speed in as the next part of a track is a pretty high speed section and since every millisecond can mean the difference between pole and not pole, i think he was trying to push and did too much
as for my reason why he didnt fully countersteer, my assumption is that he either decided to keep his steering straight hoping his back tyres could catch grip before hitting the barrier, or that he didnt anticipate the amount of spin he'd get and by the time he's in the wall it was too late (yes f1 drivers have insane reflexes but monaco is well known for its unforgiving nature)
in all while it does look really weird, i highly doubt perez would risk his seat over a p3 start, considering max was well into the championship fight at this point
looking back did this give perez the opportunity to win? yes
but without ferrari's awful strategy decisions he wouldnt even have been close to trying for a win, and i dont think perez can predict that ferrari will have the strategy they had
in the end i dont think this is deliberate, but a stupid mistake (this isnt the first time a red bull driver made a mistake on a quali lap after all)
and even if deliberate, max decided to let perez help him the rest of the year and the moment his championship is solidified then he suddenly decides to go back to a thing that happened almost 6 months ago? i find that very strange especially if you outweigh this time to all the times perez did massively help max
overall, unless max/red bull come out with an official statement as to the reasoning and we get definetive proof of what happened, i dont believe this was the reason why

Also, he is the driver who didn’t give up a position and give the position back to Alonso.
Whether or not it was purpose, that still gives Max no reason whatsoever to behave the way he did. Max showed who he really is like endless times and it showed he holds grudges against people in general, which is childish and he needs to grow up. He along with his biased fans forget how many times Perez has moved aside for him, as well as helping him win what was a gifted title caused by human error and think how many points Red Bull gained by having illegal parts to the car last year and their cheating gave them a huge advantage over their rivals this year.

That seems reasonable enough, but what i can't comprehend is why he would go full throttle there. It wasn't even a smooth transition into full throttle, he just opened the gas suddenly at the worst time possible.
I don't really believe he would wanna crash on purpose. That doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Either way I still think max is being petty considering all Checo did for him and the fact that this WDC is already his.

I guess Checo on the crashed scene was in a different race line than the normal scene you can check that second 2:11 and you will notice he made something wrong from the beginning.
I think he made a mistake by taking that chicane at 2:11 from the outside which gave him the illusion that he is capable of taking the next chicane faster and when he tried to press the accelerator pedal, the wheels turned, which led to the scene that we saw.
Take a look at the brakes, you will find that he was pressing for a longer period before going through the turn at the crashed scene.

Perez never reacts to save the spin, that and the throttle stab are dead giveaways it was intentional. A class driver intending not to crash, would counter steer almost instinctively as soon as they felt the rear stepping around

  • @chirpingbluebird

While it does indeed seem very suspicious, it's just too strange and illogical to me for it to have been intentional. Risks far outweighed the rewards. To me, it's just a silly mistake to me. Unless somebody can show he's got form for this (like when drivers were accusing Max of being far too aggressive in his early seasons, which was very true and there was plenty of evidence for it), then I won't blame Perez for this.
