tom hu yes we’ve got footings to code underneath the steel Post and huge steel beams. If the home owner want to obtain permits themselves later or hire the contractor that’s also an option

Generally isn't permit needed to be approved prior to construction. But it sounds like you're saying construct first, get permit later?
I hate videos like this because they don’t explain if this was a a pre-or post porch and how he tied up his beam into the existing wall
