Kooks need to calm down. Grom at 1:27 would not have made the section anyway. Tri fin short board (a.k.a. anchor dragging sinker) and wide (stick up the ass) stance doesn't help either. Typical short board pop up, bottom turn, sink combo. Great waves for a twin or quad though.
Lol Bob a snake is a snake, he had to modify the way he was riding the wave he had priority because this rude punk ass thinks his video is more important than another persons right of way.
And when you find something faster and more precise than a tri fin you should probably let the pros know since your such an expert and they are still stuck using tri fins for almost all professional competition with the exception of the occasional quad, nobody uses twinnys anymore...

Pros surf on the best waves in the world...Do you? I know I don't. Twin fins placed near the tail (like the Mini-Simmons) or quads give much needed speed for mushy waves. I don't give a rat's ass what Kelly Slater surfs on. He is surfing on powerful waves; and thus he needs to maintain control (i.e. to slow the board down). Where I am, I need all the speed I can get...and trust me, on mushy waves, tri fins are very slow. Like you, most surfers in my area surf on a tri fin just because the pros do it...If they had any intelligence they would realize that they are not a pro; and they are not surfing at the top surfing spots in the world, like the pros. The board should match the waves being ridden. Boards should not be selected based on what the pros are riding...That makes no sense at all. Lastly, I don't really think the pros get to choose what boards they ride. For example, Rob Machado requested Al Merrick make him a single fin board for competition; but his request was denied because that was not the fin setup the industry wanted to promote. Single fins suck, too, by the way...because putting a fin in the middle causes drag; but, again, Rob Machado is surfing on good waves and he needs to slow the board down.
