I never forget these because i have to see them all ever day since i own a vintage toy store and they have never sold in over 25 years and still all here covered in dust and wasting space.
Couldn't you just donate them to your local children's hospital? If you don't have one close by, they always have holiday toy drives. Kids wouldn't care, they probably be overjoyed getting a "new" toy.
I did have a childhood friend who's father worked for Kenner in the 80s and the only thing he ever got for free and in advance (two weeks before stores got it) was the Jabba the Hutt playset.
In 1978 to 1979, we lived in Florida (St Petersburg, near Tampa) and my dad worked at Pet Dairy, making all things from udder secretions. He brought home all kinds of yogurt and a shot ton of cottage cheese with pineapple in it. Don’t know how all those old retirees got their pineapple cottage cheese, cause I am pretty sure all of it that the plant made was sitting in my fridge!
oh yeah, unlike the people whose neighbors all worked for Kenner, my father DID work at the Dairy Plant and he did bring home a ton of that nasty cottage cheese and pineapple. I could even taste it while typing about it. Gross!
We had a family friend who was a garbage man. He was always bringing GI Joes home for his kids which he found with the trash on the curb. He didn't work for Hasbro or Kenner as far as I can remember.
The only ones I might have collected had I known about them would’ve been the Olympians because I’m into mythology and depended upon the scale, the may have fit in with Clash of the Titans figures.
I remember none of these. They all look like toys you'd find in the dollar store. And, I do remember the movie 'Virus', I guess not enough people caught it to spread word about it.

I loved Virus and drooled over those figures, but never got them.
remember those awful generic pirates that KD Toys sold? god... those were terrible. And food fighters... who the hell wants to play with militant pancakes and chicken legs?
Food fighters are pretty collectable now and some go for a pretty penny. I was out of toys by then thankfully but I agree - seemed like a dumb idea to me. Each to his own I suppose!
I used to live near the old Gibson guitar factory, and everyone and their brother, would try to amaze me by telling me that their uncle, worked there and made "this" one off custom guitar in the 60s.....in reality they were 2nd runs out of the part bins taken by the employees, cool, but not the holy grail they thought.
I had never heard of those Twelve Olympians figures before but they grabbed my attention. Being heavily into Greek mythology I want them. So I have just looked on Ebay for them and the couple of figures that are listed are wanting crazy high money (There's a Poseidon for £65!) so unfortunately these figures are well beyond my finances to collect.
I actual, quite resently, bought me an Extreme Dinosaur as a thought it was a part of the Street Sharks - line. I think I got him for around 4.5 USD =)
I actually saw Virus in the theater back then. In fact, I was the only one in the theater. What a waste of time! I had no idea there were toys for the movie.
My kids had some of these. Star Wars hadn't started getting big until later. No one worked for toy companies, they were all steel workers or Hershey workers
Junkman do you remember those late 90s 8 inch Army action figures that they used to sell at dollar tree? those things could have passed as McFarlane Army figures today with the detail they had and they were only a buck
I knew a kid who swore his dad worked for Nintendo who had all the games for it, but really I think his parents were just divorced. In his teen years he got a huge tumor behind one eye that made it stick out all weird but it was right on his brain so they just left it. Eventually they had to take it out because it was fixin to crush his brain and he might have died, but he lived and his eye was saved too. Unfortunately he was an alcoholic because of being a freak for so long and being depressed. He tried to go cold turkey on it and died of withdrawal.
I used to have all the exo squad mecha. And there were these little two inch robot looking dudes with knockoff lightsabers that I loved. Cant remember what they were called. Apparently I've always loved sci fi 🤣
@That Junkman Oddly enough! "RoboCop," was inspired by various comic book and Sci- Fi characters. These include ''Judge Dredd'', The Terminator, Marvel's Iron Man and ROM. According to screenwriter Ed Neumeier, ''however''... RoboCop's biggest influence was the Japanese TV hero (Space Sheriff Gavan). When I saw Radio Shack's Galactic Man action figures, (Space Sheriff Gavan) was the first thing that popped into my head. Maybe that had something to do with, why they didn't get sued?
I remember the Monster Force figures. I never could find the Frankenstein one as a kid. Years later I found him at a Flea Market but he was priced too high.
The only one that you mentioned that I even heard of was C.O.W.boys of Moo Mesa. I think that's because I remember the cartoon. The rest I never heard of. Though, I wasn't a kid in the 90s. I was a toy collector though. But I focused on stuff I knew about such as Marvel and DC lines and Star Wars.
Jaime Lee Curtis was in Virus? I remember those action figures. You forgot to talk about the Babes in Toyland figures Junkman. A great disservice to your loyal fans if I may say so! Day thirty of requesting Junkman to do a reaction video to Babes in Toyland 1986 or Star Wars Christmas special for a Junkman Christmas special.
I don't have a very good recollection of the 90's. I drank a lot and dated wiccan girls, dumb as stumps but they're really hot. Anyway, one of the few things I remember is collecting two action figure lines. One was Universal Monsters and the other was the Lady Death line. Purgatori was my favorite figure of the lot.
Thank you Junkman for educating me on figure lines I had no idea existed and I grew up in the 80's and 90's but they snuck right on by me. The virus figures I never knew Jamie Lee Curtis had a figure besides for Laurie strode from Halloween. You always blow my mind with some of the obscure toy's. Thank you again my bro have a great day.
Sees 'Talking Toys' is instantly reminded of two talking police figures his little brother had. Sees one of the police figures in the video! Too cool! 😎 These were actually fun. I'd say the only bad thing is that there weren't any criminals for them to interact with.
The movie Virus actually had been a comic adaptation of the 4 part Dark Horse comic by Chuck Pfarrer. I remember those action figures, as they were actually available where I live unlike the other stuff.
It's the only one on this list I actually remember? And while you couldn't call te movie good exactly? I found it a pretty entertaining watch overall,? Definatly above the majority of derivative 90s Sci fi imo?!?!
For goofy 90's toy lines, Street Sharks by Mattel. Yeah there was a cartoon. Sharks wearing Doc Martin boots. Wasn't a total failure as it ran for a few years but clear rip off of TMNT. On Kenner, employees yes would take home first shots of the 3.75 SW action figures then go plinking with a 22 rifle on them. If they only knew.
@@theequalizer9154 what's so complicated about my cousin's, sister's, best friend's, brother's, cousin's, next door neighbors sister's brother? A third grader could figure that out! Lol
@@theequalizer9154 so I forgot to mention that the sister of my cousin's, sister's, best friend's, brother's, cousin's, next door neighbor is actually a step sister and her brother had every one of those figures. Does that make more sense now? Sorry I forgot the step sister part!
I don’t know if they were 90s action figures or not as they were popular imitation of GI Joe action figures sold in Walmart and Big Lots and Target. But the action figure line I played with in the 90s was called the C.O.R.P.S.. And actually had play sets and vehicles and all kinds unique and rip-off ideas and designs from GI Joe and Star Ship Troopers (I think). They were really cool. Awesome podcast and channel.
I never knew anyone who claimed their dad worked for a toy company but there was one kid whose dad worked for a computer manufacturer and he had all the computer games - even the ones I made up when I talked to him! It was amazing.
Shooo them figures were rough. I don't remember any of them. I was collecting McFarlane Spawn in the 90's and now my house looks like a comic book store in my 30's😂
I been collecting a long time, but I can't remember any of these..But I do remember the line that made Demolition Man figures 😂 Kids weren't even supposed to watch the movie but all of a sudden Wesley Snipes(Simon Phenix) was on the pegs at Hills department store...It was ridiculous, even at the age I was then...💯
Junkman... I remember some of these but you pulled out some really obscure things I don't remember!! Wtf were those Olympian figures?! And those roller blades figures...bet they sold well!! Haha
I did work at Toys R Us and and remember the Extreme Dinosaurs, Virus figures and the Monster Force. I liked the Monster Force line I do not think I owned any though as i have really no toys anymore that I collected back at that time.
Damit! There's a Billy Baldwin Action fig and I don't have it? Oh and Junkman, I don't know how forgotten Cowboys of Moo Mesa is? They had a 2 season cartoon that ran after school on the Toon Disney block. They actually got more episodes than similarly themed Bravestar. Or Silverhawks.
Dayum Junkman, I dont remember any of these. I thought you was going with something like James Bond Jr. or New Adventures of Johnny Quest. But dang. I dont know any of these.
Dark Horse Comics co-produced the Virus movie based on a comic book they released. It wasn't a bad movie. My friend Kurt and I saw it on it's second day of release.
LOL i had that Dracula.. i used to play with it all the time and i believe the dog we had at the time chewed some of his fingers off and he ended up getting buried in mcfarlane draculas coffin in my parents back yard
The face you made when you said "William Baldwin" was priceless. I died. Had to call EMS.
Lol I have to go back and look for that
I never forget these because i have to see them all ever day since i own a vintage toy store and they have never sold in over 25 years and still all here covered in dust and wasting space.
how much for the monster force ones lol
Couldn't you just donate them to your local children's hospital? If you don't have one close by, they always have holiday toy drives. Kids wouldn't care, they probably be overjoyed getting a "new" toy.
I actually want the cowBoys ones
Virus was an odd movie but was ok. It was an alien transmission that took over a boat and turned all the people into cyborg type creatures.
I remember the movie trailer. I never saw it though.
I remember renting it. It was OK. Kind of like a SyFy channel movie with a slightly bigger budget, and better acting.
I've seen worse.
I did have a childhood friend who's father worked for Kenner in the 80s and the only thing he ever got for free and in advance (two weeks before stores got it) was the Jabba the Hutt playset.
Cowboys of moo mesa theme song ! Billy Dean!
Greek gods? I'd buy those. Then again, I'd likely buy figures of Norse gods, Shinto gods, and Egyptian gods. They're cool
In 1978 to 1979, we lived in Florida (St Petersburg, near Tampa) and my dad worked at Pet Dairy, making all things from udder secretions. I have to disagree with Monster Force they actually look quite cool 👍
The only ones I might have collected had I known about them would’ve been the Olympians because I’m into mythology and depended upon the scale, the may have fit in with Clash of the Titans figures.
Lol 😂 I thought about a local antique store that sells old action figures. They have MOTU figures in zip lock bags

My Uncle designed most of these. I have the prototypes to this day. Including the Left Handed Gold Extreme Dinosaur Variant.
"Ten minutes after you get it home, you have a mess all over your carpet."

I actually have the big scary monster thing from the Virus toy line. Still in the box, still talks, despite the batteries being over 20 years old.
Virus is my favorite movie of all time. Viruscon was a big deal in 2005 to 2008 in Vegas. My Uncle ran the event.
I totally didn't know anyone that worked for a toy company and I never got any prototypes. It was so cool getting nothing when I was a kid!
I actual, quite resently, bought me an Extreme Dinosaur as a thought it was a part of the Street Sharks - line.

Very fun video, JunkMan! I'll have to look some of those toys up, as I never heard of ANY of them!
Im a 90s kid and I collected the Extreme Dinosaurs line. Also none of my parents worked for a toy manufacturer. My mom just spoiled me lol
Never heard of any of them. Thats the crap your grandmother would buy and you had to act happy when she gave it to you

What does this have to do with action figures?
@@harrycollins3248 He brought it up.
That’s really fucked up and I have total empathy for this person I’ve never met
Virus was adapted from a comic book by Dark Horse comics, most other toys I dont remember unless a cartoon was attached to it as well.
Monster squad was lit like shadow of the empire
I used to have all the exo squad mecha. And there were these little two inch robot looking dudes with knockoff lightsabers that I loved. Cant remember what they were called. Apparently I've always loved sci fi 🤣
The only one I remember is wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa, mainly because they advertised the TV show so much.
I remember the Monster Force. I didn't collect them but did see them in stores and the remember seeing the cartoon also.
The theme song to Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa is awesome.

extreme dinosaur? one of the best toy lines, up there with street sharks
