Would it be legal to hit the ball almost as if you are spiking while blocking the opposing teams spike, so you would essentially hit the ball back at them just after the opposing spiker had made contact. This would obviously be pretty hard to pull off but could it be a viable technique?

wait this coach is genius - in free ball situations, leave the red or d ball because that's the least probable ball to get a kill. double the outside and commit to the right side to the middle because these are the most likely positions to get a point in a free ball situation... wow. ok I'll remember that.
