I wish that all of your records would be more accessible, especially in Europe. Postage fee from US is killing us. Some of the dealers are inflating the prices. A depot in EU would be gift from heaven. Keep up the superb work.
Thanks Chad! Masterpieces is a masterpiece. if someone passed on records like this recorded before stereo in the late 50's i just wouldn't know what to say!
Well, any misconceptions that I had about mono records were quickly dispelled in a completely surprising way when a friend gave me a 12 album classical box set from Readers Digest records issued in 1959. After 3 or 4 records I was cheering like I was at a rock concert.

I have several of the old Capital Kingston Trio LP,s and they sound very good. Well engineered and I like them just as good as reissued stereo versions on CD
Yes in recent years i've found some of my old records in my collection in mono sound amazing after my cartridge upgrade, bought the Duke Ellington sounds amazing, one record I picked up for one English Pound by " Kay Star " blew me away too..has a great track called , " slow boat to China "Also Nancy Wilson - yesterdays Love songs Todays Blues LP in mono
I have these, except for Soulville, which by the time I got around to wanting to pick it up, it was gone. and I agree with you, So much good stuff, Chad. Thank you!!
I try to buy Analogue Productions products whenever I can whether its on record or their outstanding SACD/CD hybrids. I was one of the fortunate ones to purchase The"Tea For The Tillerman" Lp when it was released too. Haven`t been disappointed yet with my purchases!
I will definitely check out your Mono records. I would truly appreciate if you could consider re-releasing Esperanza Spalding debut album self title Esperanza, on quality records. That is the only album of hers that is not on vinyl. I know you guys would make it sound even more amazing. Secondly please put more modern hip-hop/R&B when your quality record. Perhaps LL cool J record, radio, or I’m bad. Just something to consider.
For your mono reissues do you recommend playback with a true mono cartridge (like the first pressings) or a stereo cartridge? Playing original mono records with a Miyajima Spirit Mono cartridge has been a revelation.
Some of the best and most lifelike recordings I’ve ever heard were in mono. 15ips full track is a very high fidelity medium and can sound startlingly real, especially when there is a very simple, high quality signal path from microphone to tape. The records can be so much better now with more advanced mastering chains that can make the most of the original source material, high purity/quiet vinyl formulations that are much better than the black plastic sludge used at some pressing plants back in the day, and records that don’t have to be cut with the limitations of 1950’s playback equipment in mind.
When I saw the title of this video the first thing I thought was "I wonder if there is ANY CHANCE I own one of these...." I found my original copy of Illinois Jaquet "Swing's the Thing" just a few weeks ago and brought it home. Tuned it up in the old trusty spin o matic or whatever it is and the next day I heard the air get compressed between the reeds of the mouthpiece of his Sax during the intro to Harlem Nocturn and IMMEDIATELY placed it on my eBay saved searches. On the off chance that someone might post it up and I can have TWO! -✌🏼 I haven't been so happy to find a new old record since I found an unopened copy of Wynder K Frog "into the fire" for $20.
Hi Chad great videos and great products! Is there any chance you will be repressing the Ben Webster Soulville Lp? I dont even see it anymore in the back order section of Acoustic Sounds Verve Series. Thank You
Can't beat the old RCA LM catalog for the classical. Of course it's living stereo brother takes it to another level. Mono can be very deceiving on a good system. It can make a believer out of you!! Right on Chad!!
I don’t have the Masterpieces but do have the Helen Merril and Ella & Louis, but the best sounding Mono I have is the Impex Sinatra that just came out. Just picked up JL Hooker Serve you right to suffer this morning from You guys fresh off the presses.
I have your 45 of Masterpieces by Ellington...the sound quality is stunning! You can hear the horn players drawing breath between phrases!
I wish that all of your records would be more accessible, especially in Europe. Postage fee from US is killing us. Some of the dealers are inflating the prices. A depot in EU would be gift from heaven. Keep up the superb work.
Same here in Canada, postage is more than the record price.
Thanks Chad! Masterpieces is a masterpiece. if someone passed on records like this recorded before stereo in the late 50's i just wouldn't know what to say!
Just recently returned to vinyl, played that Ella & Louie mono at dinner last weekend and our kids liked it!
I'm really enjoying Chad's videos...
Chad, love your videos, and I love buying from Acoustic Sounds.
This is truly an absolute masterpiece by Duke Ellington .
a trick : you can watch series at kaldroStream. I've been using it for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Ronnie Castiel Yea, I have been watching on flixzone} for years myself :)
YES, please repress Ellington Masterpieces. I ordered it month's ago when for a millisecond it was still in print. I have been waiting and waiting!
The fact that mono can have depth and breadth is astounding to me. Whatever they did in the past, on those great mono mixes was like magic.

Please repress Ellington’s Masterpieces and Bill Evans at Montreux @ 33 rpm. Thanks!
Been waiting for the repress of these two for a long time too.
At some point they will go back on press.
I have "Miles davis" debut LP in mono! It sounds fantastic!

a good mono mix is always better than a bad stereo mix.
And vice versa!
@@analoguecity3454 sure, a good stereo mix sounds better than a bad mono mix!

is it worth using a stereo cartrige and adding signal together with a patch lead ?

chad I bought the helen meriill from you --you should have mentioned that it had clifford brown on it --which is why i bought it
Hi Chad great videos and great products! Is there any chance you will be repressing the Ben Webster Soulville Lp? I dont even see it anymore in the back order section of Acoustic Sounds Verve Series. Thank You
Yes
Top recommendations all Chad. Any date for when After Midnight might be available again?
No
Proud to say I have all of those except the Ben Webster.
Any chances of releasing all these on SACD like for instance Julie London?
Chad great music!!!

Right on Chad!!

Just picked up JL Hooker Serve you right to suffer this morning from You guys fresh off the presses.
I still like the mono mixes of Beatles and Beach Boys
Please repress Ella and Louis and Ben Webster's Soulville! Thanks!!!
I does seem like most records are played with speakers out front in a Mono situation no separation even when you did the test on a video...
What about the Helen Merrill on SACD?
Coming soon.
Dear Chad, plz grow your hair out. Not a great time in our country for that look. Most polite way I can say this. Thx!
