Another comment:
Speaking about longer technical difficulties, although this one is not really a technical difficulty: I remember one time watching Garfield and Friends on TV1 on a weekday at 7 pm in 2005 or 2006. TV1 almost finished airing an episode of the show and they had interrupt the program to show the Azan Maghrib. TV1 never came back and straightaway air the English news at 7.30 pm, and this disappointed me and viewers of Garfield and Friends as it was shown half-complete and (in my hindsight) TV1 had to prioritise the news.
By the way, I seem to have a strange obsession of watching some kids shows on TV1 in my late childhood years.
Thanks for sharing - no need to feel that your watching kids' shows in late childhood is weird or anything. I was watching TV Pendidikan long after I left school :) I personally believe that it is people like you and me that tend to be passionate about esoteric things, which results in YT channels dedicated to idents, PSAs, TV theme music, etc. I have mentioned before how many people thought I was crazy to record just the beginning and end themes of shows, and not the show itself :) You know what? I vaguely recall the kind of scenario which you described in your Garfield and Friends incident. It was some other show, and I remember the end was never screened. I, too, would be very frustrated, as there was just no way to see the ending pre internet. Thanks for your comment.

Speaking about mechanical tapes, according to one article about Metrovision, RTM apparently was still using 1 inch tapes while Metrovision was using D5 tapes. 1 inch tapes to me are bulkier than shell-based tapes like VHS.
When you said 1 inch tape, what format was it? I'm not well versed in broadcast formats, so I was very intrigued by your comment. Thanks, BTW

@@TamanSesame The D5 in Japan was only used by NHK and Wowow. NHK is a member of the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union along with RTM. Wowow is a pay TV broadcaster.

Since 6 April, this is only the third video that TamanSesame uploaded. Here are the details:
1. Spiff and Hercules was broadcast at 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, the same broadcast time was for Little Rascals on Tuesdays, Hurricanes on Wednesdays and Thursdays with Nature Knows Best. At 5:00 p.m. Kidsongs TV Show would be broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays while Magic Box shown on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Here are the 4:00 p.m. programmes weekly between Mondays and Thursdays: Stone Protectors, Wizard of Oz, Daddy Long Legs and Tomato Man & Knights Of The Salad Table. The programme slide and classification: 0:41, 0:51 - 0:56, programme would not start until 2:47 - 3:49.
2. This was likely to be 26 August, as the preceding slide before Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa was that of 39th National Day with the theme Budaya Penentu Kecapaian.
3. Technical disruptions: 0:57 - 2:47, with the instrumental version of TV2 song lyrics. I guess this song would be the same used for TV2 programme summary following its transition from TV Pendidikan at 3:50 p.m., am I correct?
4. The TV2 logo would appear ten seconds after the start of the programme at that time (along with TV1), while TV3 almost immediately after the start of the programme. At that time, 4:00 p.m. also would be TV3's default time for children's programming (except Thursdays), but Friday would be at 4:32 p.m. with the Kelab Disney Malaysia programme, it was simply called Kelab Disney in 2008 - 2009 when the programme was in its final years although Astro still refer the programme with the Malaysia word. On Thursdays, 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. would be normally two movie slots, one in Tamil (Selekta Emas) and the other Teater Nusantara. Teater Nusantara would be discontinued in April 1999 (replaced with Konsert Dataran Merdeka), along with the move of Jade Drama to 6:30 p.m. (later 6:00 p.m.), previously 7:00 p.m. with the programme now also broadcast on Fridays. TV3 had the Jam 5 slot that started on 20 September 1993, slots such as Cerekapilihan and Citrawara, the latter mostly focused on newer drama titles, would be broadcast at 5:32 p.m., later when they introduced the Identiti slot (the slot would be named after the first drama broadcast and was broadcast again in March 1999), the slot would be broadcast earlier at 5:00 p.m., while Identiti slot was broadcast at 6:30 p.m., later moved to 6:00 p.m., then 7:00 p.m., another change happened in 1998 - 1999 when it moved to 4:30 p.m. that would be the same broadcast time as Teater Nusantara. On Wednesday, it would be Muzik-Muzik programme, at 6:00 p.m. but broadcast 30 minutes earlier due to the introduction of Identiti slot and then 5:00 p.m., Muzik-Muzik would not move again to another broadcast day until 2000 (Saturdays 12:30 p.m.). In 1996 - 1997, the Cerekapilihan and Citrawara slot, along with Wednesday broadcast time for Muzik-Muzik would be used for Muzik-Muzik Semi Finals in November.
5. For TV3, I would remember that technical problems will use English language, but changed to Malay around 2010. Even the old usage remained on TV3 in 2007 (the technical problem used in 2000 - 2001), but the 2008 version was more modern.
6. There have been some videos recorded in July - August 1996 as I have noticed before, including two programme summary on the same Wednesday with two different announcers.
For the next upload, I want the archived content from TV3 as the channel will be celebrating its 40th anniversary on 1 June. It can be anything, either programme summary, start and / or end of transmission or maybe other than this. I really want to see TV3's version of Negaraku in the 1990s, but as I already said the Negaraku video had the images of Yang di-Pertuan Agong (1999 - 2001), which was Sultan of Selangor being replaced due to his death. I really missed the times when newspapers used to have television guide (my favourite column), especially with New Straits Times and Berita Harian (same company), but this segment has been withdrawn in recent years. Thank you for your attention.
Edited: Broadcast time changes are based on New Straits Times on Google News Archive.
This is a very informative series of comments - thank you. I will address the points presently. Thanks so much for your continued support - I truly appreciate it.
1. Thanks so much for the timestamps, as well as the detailed info about programme schedules around that time period.
2. Thanks for dating the broadcast. I surmised it was in Aug 1996 because it was pre-Merdeka. I had forgotten that Spiff and Hercules was aired on Mondays. I am always grateful to those who date my clips, so thank you.
3. If you check my TV2 begins its broadcast day videos, you will find a similar tune was played during the Intisari Rancangan title card. It wasn't the exact same piece of music, but definitely related in style and instrumentation.
4. I can always so impressed by the depth of knowledge you and some others here have on the many timeslot evolutions and changes over the years. Thanks for documenting these so clearly here on this video.

How? How a kid who use his dad's name got into here?
Yes...yes ..yes....itu adalah suara Ms Norlela......oh ya cakap pasal gangguan siaran ....dulu dekat tv3 tahun 1990-1993....kalau ada gangguan siaran di tengah tengah rancangan....tv3 ada satu slaid menyatakan "Masalah teknikal Maafkanlah kami" lepas itu disertakan dengan satu lagu tau....masa itu Walaupun gangguan siaran tv3 masa tu sangat kreatif...sampai diaorang boleh gubah satu lagu.....lirik dia macam ni " maafkanlah ......maafkanlah kami....(something like that)😂😂👍👍
Thanks for confirming. Eh, now that you mention it, I remember now the Maafkanlah kami song LOL. Is there a YT Vid of that? Please share if you find it, ya

Pretty nice Taman Sesame 🥳
I was wondering if it is possible to get the full RTM U klasifikasi slide? I wanted to add to the archive collection (of course full credit will be given)
I always wanted to ask, how early did you start recording and by any chance did you record any metrovision ident, news or graphic package (i remembered that you uploaded metrovision recording before so I felt interested to see more in the future)

Tqvm, VF. Always value your support. What do you mean by full U sign? The one in this vid is what it was like at the time. No voiceover, no music, and will be on for a few seconds
I started recording in the mid 80s (budak kecik only la at that time :)). And yes, I do have metrovision footage, ident, news dll. YT is a really terrible place for us, so I'm working out the best way to post. Thanks for your continued support - always appreciate. Stay tuned, ya

Admin, bilakah hari dan jam berapa bersiaran rancangan kartun Spiff and Hercules ini?
Kalau ikut satu komen kat sini, Spiff and Hercules disiarkan Isnin 4.30pm
Back when children watch cartoons to improve their English and BM.
Nowadays, Malaysian chinese kids don't watch English cartoons like us. They just watch Chinese kids programmes instead of English kids programmes until ended up don't understand BM and English.
Now, it's all dumb CJ wow shop.
Sadly, the standard of English has deteriorated in Malaysia, in my opinion. I didn't know that Msian Chinese children have reduced their viewing of English language programming. That's unfortunate, as learning English through the media is a fun and effective way to improve one's command of the language
Also mechamato on astro prima and chuck chicken on tv3 had english dubbed but did have subtitles on it
@@randomguytechfansgameandmo6738 i see. So it was dubbed in English, ori audio Japanese. Got it
I got the (almost clearer) version! Check it out!
And also i watched spiff & hercules!
