Thanks for the comment bro, In this video or for this type of brushless alternator the pilot exciter is PMG (permanent magnet) but in some other types of alternators the residual magnetism is used for the pilot exciter, so it depends on the type of alternator.

the use of fuel depends upon the prime movers (an initial source of motive power) if the prime mover is an engine then definitely there will be the use of fuel and if the prime mover is Airflow or Water flow then there will be no need for it.

the voltage out put from the AVR is about 110 V DC , but am not sure the out out voltage of roratting diods for main excitor.

capacitors are normally involved in AC motors, not in AC generators.
