Thanks for another useful video, Frazier greetings from the n.w corner of Orygun
Whooooa! That’s a long way from here. Where do you camp? Thanks for the note.
@moderntentcamping I ride an ATV & Suzuki Samurai. I 🏕 camp/ride in the Tillamook State Forest (Diamond Mill) 250miles of trails.wilderness & also Oregon Dunes. I tent/truck camp in remote area. It has lots of steep ridges & trails not for family or novices, Beautiful scenery hardly see anyone
@@speedfreak8200 sounds like a great place.
Good suggestions. Thank you for the video
Thank you for the note. I hope it was helpful. The more I use a mid-size knife - the more I love them. And I use them both in our camp kitchen and our home kitchen. Hope you have a great Christmas or holiday season.
Great video, great suggestions for camp kitchen knives. You have some pretty sweet knives in your camp gear. Hope all is well with you all out there in Alabama. Always nice to see a post from you. Thank you for sharing, take care Frazier D. Friend... 🇺🇲
Thanks Jason. We are well. Hope you and your family are also doing well.
Thank you! I will be purchasing one these. Love your videos ❤️
Which one?
The Wustof 4.5! I did not realize how many knives there were out there until I started looking for that one 😃
@@CeeCeeImohlaapohko Did you find one? They are great knives! We use it a lot in our home kitchen! I have a large hand and especially like it’s large comfortable handle.
@@moderntentcamping I did not find the exact one. I found something like it similar on Amazon. I was looking to see if you had links on your website so I could support your website but I didn't see anything 😕
@@CeeCeeImohlaapohko if a link is not on my Amazon store page, I’ll add one tomorrow morning. Thanks.
You seem like a really good guy! God bless!
Thank you. Same to you.
Great info. I carry a variety of knives for different reasons. I have about 5 that I carry in my kitchen box. Nice to know I’m not alone😊.
What knives do you have ad what do you use them for?
Thanks for the video, I have a CLRB Silax and a CRKT biwa… I like them both. I am thinking about buying the Spyderco Bow River to complete my set. I don’t have an Opinel but believe they will be a great camp kitchen companion as well as for actually using them for our meals. I own several knives, my camp knife is an Esee PR4 it serves all my camping purposes, but when talking about knives, one is none and two is one….😂. My collection is completed with an Esee 3, Izula II, CR 2.5, a Cudeman Sanabria 2, Joker Erizo… they all work fine. I will need to buy a special belt to carry all the knives at the same time at camp..😂😂😂😂. Thanks for your videos.
@@toto29er Thanks for the note Francisco. Sounds like you have a nice collection. Isn’t it curious how when you buy one knife, it makes you want another one? Good luck with your collection.
@ You are right! Too many knives too little time to use them…
Interesting....I used alot of Stainless steel MORA camp knives ...but then... I noticed one of the cook elders in my community, using a Fish Fillet knife for food prep, and was amazed at the easy slicing done by it, with meat, and veggies...I switched to a small fillet knife , which I cut the blade down from 7inches to 4.5 inches...for 20 yrs I've been using this & never looked back.
The blade has enough flex in it , to get those super thin meat slices but doesn't break. It is full tang for the strength and the handle is non slip. I also spent some time with a japanese stone , to get the desired sharpness .
Sounds like you discovered the best multi-purpose food prep kitchen knife long before I did. If we ever sat down together, we might have a lot to talk about.
@@moderntentcamping I enjoy a good jaw wagging session about Camping, thru hiking , and all outdoor activities.
Interesting that you have the River Traders French Ball knife on your list as it appears to have a skandi grind which may not be a good food prep knife as it would not cut straight. It is supposed to be a good wood working knife.
@@RSVenkatachalam Very good point. Thick blades with scandi grinds don’t slice straight but this knife has a very thin blade and the scandi grinds behaves like other kitchen knives with a long bevel. I have used that knife to prep food for a couple of years and still consider it to be one of the best food prep knives. My only complaint is the thin blade makes it more flexible than I like. Thanks for the comment.
How about the Opinel Garden knife instead of a No. 10 as it's stainless steel
I think our #10 is stainless. Never used the garden knife. In general, Opinel is good as a secondary knife and we pack 2 of them - but I would not pack one as my ONLY kitchen knife. It’s too lightweight and flimsy. A good fixed blade would be a much more versatile knife. Thanks for watching and sending this note.
