    Absolutely wonderful video. Cheers man.. I noticed you use some Stahlwille tools.. are these a preference. I'm lucky enough to have been given a full set of VW and Porsche shop tools for Transmissions and engines by a now passed machinist. How do you feel about Hazet or will anything that fits work? :)

      Almost all of my wrenches are Stahlwille brand. I have owned them for over 30 years now and yes they are my favorite wrench over all others out there. With both Hazet and Snap-On wrenches I find them to be a little to bulky and this will sometimes result in them not being able to fit into some tight places.

    Can you do a video on the 930 transmission rebuild process? Seems like it is hard to get the dog teeth off their gears.

      The process is the same however for first and second gear the tooling is different and specific to the turbo transmission. If we get a 930 box into the shop you can bet we will being doing a video on it. Right now we have a bunch of 915's to do.
      Getting the dog teeth off without the proper tooling and not damaging the gear itself is almost impossible.

      @@klassikats I think SirTools makes the dog removal tools aftermarket but people have posted that the ridges in them don't fit well with the gear.

      Im using the SirTools jigs right now without any issues

      @@klassikats Is that for a 930 transmission or 915? I heard the SirTools for 930 did not have the correct profile.

      Both, although my tooling is over 20 years old since I bought it.

      Hours and Hours of work, a vapor blast machine followed by a ceramic polishing machine.

      @@klassikats It looks fantastic, but all the shop manuals say to leave the case as found as it will otherwise leak? I always doubted that myself, but what do I know?

      Not sure what manuals you are looking at but for a part that is 40 to 50 years old you cannot leave any stone unturned.
