It's like watching Jeff Mills the way you touch the controls. I also use that Vestax, such a good mixer. I've had mine for 25 years now. Great mix mate.
And I still don't understand why a channel kill like the phono/line used to be used hasn't made it onto modern mixers....quite a loss really... shouldn't always have to slam the faders up and down to make cuts... A channel kill would be much more suitable sometimes@@JoshdLouxlee
True! But above all, the crossfader to be able to quickly change from one song to the other and the faders to make combinations quickly. I guess these rotary mixers are designed only to make linear and slow transitions, which is not critical, but it limits possibilities. 🤷
Maybe I didn't understand your writing correctly. The sound is obviously digital, like all music, even if you produce with analog equipment sooner or later you convert it to digital when recording, even if you end up pressing vinyl, the source is digital. In case there is any doubt, I have never used the sync button, nor do I care to do so because adjusting the turntables is part of the fun, from my humble point of view. Cheers
@@JoshdLouxlee your doing a great job behind the turntables and you are absolutley right wirh your digital/ analog explaination. No offense at all. Keep on spinning and enjoy yourself.
you are the guy that inspired me to play vinyl only. you are also the guy who inspired me to buy a vestax mixer hahaha fucking awesome footage here. save the vinyl. also: crazyyyyy tunes.
Hi Josh. Love the mixing style .. especially the mixer and the way you are torturing it all the time :D Im thinking about buying traktor timecode vinyls for my decks. Is there big difference between mixing on timecode? and is there a way of switching in between normal record and timecode so the set dont depend just on digital tracks? Few words would help very much :) Thanks!
Hi! Yes, I use serato to play my tracks in the mix and it's really good. The program allows you to select the track mode as timecode or thru mode, which allows you to play normal vinyl. The feeling is practically identical. The most annoying thing for me is having to look at the screen to change songs. The feeling of looking for the next song in the suitcase of records, with its cover and design is unparalleled. Looking for the file in a list or window, it's not the same... But to mix unreleased songs that don't exist on vinyl, it's the best option I think. At least better than cd players. Hope to have helped you. cheers
Thank you! All i was looking for is that it has the same feeling. I am a bit skeptical about delay in timecode but if there is no delay is amazing. I understand that it is not the same pulling the record of a sleeve and putting on a needle but i think ill survive that since i use traktor for some time now 😊 again thank you very much! And keep up with oldschool rechnique .. im missing it so much nowadays.
Really nice tracks, I'm putting some of them on a playlist. I'm also very interested in this Vestax mixer you're using and I'm starting to consider it for when I outgrow this Behringer DX626.
Hi! It's a Vestax mixer pmc 270A model. I own this mixer for 20 years and love it. Just have had to replace the faders at some point due to heavy use, and working great again. Bear in mind that this brand no longer exists and there's no support. The only way is find second hand one. In my opinion a great mixer without a doubt. Cheers
@@JoshdLouxlee I just noticed this reply when I was watching one of your videos and was reminded that your mixer is what inspired me to seek out one with cutoff switches. Seems very few mixers have those. I ended up with a Stanton RM-3 (for like $35 on Ebay!). The low end cutoff switch completely opened up my mixing and I didn't know anything about it till I saw your Vestax.
I recently made my profile on bandcamp to put them available. The intention is uploading there in mesure mastering is finished (all these tracks are raw here). There are already some you can listen now. You can follow my bandcamp page to receive notifications.😊 josh-d-louxlee.bandcamp.com/
There were home record cutting machines made around the 1940s-1950s. Most of them don't seem to work well nowadays due to age-related wear and tear, but you could try it if you want...
Almost total standstill for the past 20 years
So raw and pure. This indeed is Techno!

Not for me😆

The track at 33:00 kind of reminds me of Umek's style around 1998-2000
I am very influenced by the sound of those years (the best for me) and love umek music at those times of course. 💣💥

Yes sir, look for Josh dʼlouxlee / Jose Mora (real name) 🙂
24:30 ? Track name thanks 😊
Hi! There is no name of the song because it has not been released... Sorry😬
14:20
except real techno is played on real vinyl.
And how do you do it on "real vinyl" when none of these tracks exist on vinyl because all are your own productions? 🤔 I wait for your answer.
