I am in love with this guy. Chad, you are my fantasy future, it ain't gonna happen ever, next boyfriend/former husband. I played the sax in the 5th and 6th grade, until it was reposed because my father never paid for it. I digress, I was second chair and there were only two of us. My sax sounded like the last last throes of a run over deer. But I played it loud and with my heart. Chad, you play the sax the way I heard my sax is my head. A beautiful voice. Deep, complicated, soulful. Like velvet. Perfection. The sound of love. You are the Stan Getz of the new millennium. Thank you for making all of us so happy.

Anyone who's interested in obtaining a "true" and practical definition of Jazz, authentic jazz which is organic and unvarnished, must listen to and analyze the performances of Mr.Chad L-B.
as he does Jazz Standards.
The same can be said with regards to the styles of Scott Hamilton and the late Spike Robinson, an underrated "jazzician" of no ordinary (jazz) class.

I love hearing your tone! Any recommendations for tunes to learn. For a player getting into the tune memorizing stage.
Sonny Rollins worked out thousands of tunes on the Williamsburg Bridge by ear. That's why he had to get out of his apartment. He was driving his neighbors mad. He would learn all the tunes which would pop into his head in all the keys. Standards, blues, pop tunes, folk music his mom used to hum in the kitchen, church hymns, waltzes and polkas, old timey tunes and marches... Sonny knew thousands. It's why his solos were so lyrical. (and why I've still got so far to go.) Pick the tunes which are in your subconscious first. They are there for a reason.
