The fact that this band can go from "Scorpion Hymn" to this song just goes to show the endless possibilities music has to offer if you know how to utilize it correctly. Music has always been my second language since I was raised in a English speaking only household and should've learned 2 other languages growing up. Music helped to fill the void. But hey, fine by me! Because of this, metal has been the greatest self-discovery in my life and will die a rocker. 🤘 Go, Erra!
And the fact that you can change styles completely, but still sound like the same band. Goes to show that ERRA has found their personality, their own unique sound. Applies to all good bands, to be fair.

They seem to do an album every two years so I’ve got my fingers crossed, but every song ERRA has put so far has just hit me in a different way each time. There’s a time to throw down, to mellow out, to feel angry, and to feel hopeful. I think a lot of it has to do with my own mental issues(I was diagnosed with type 2 bi polar disorder a few years back) and it’s like this album just fits with how my mind works. It’s all over the place yet coherent at the same time, and every time I listen to the songs released so far, it just feels.. idk, comforting.

I'm not entirely sure how bands can afford to do this without shows. I understand how with new releases it keeps certain bands busy and While She Sleeps, for example have their own podcast now. But there has to be other ways to make income. I go in my own head a lot when I'm home usually at night after work. Sometimes I over work, but it's what makes me sane during this pandemic and it's not getting any better with gas prices rising, among other things. Sorry, if this was quite off topic BTW, but just know you're not the only one. It's a cold world out there. Anyways, back on topic. Definitely enjoying this slightly different approach to ERRA for sure. I play guitar so the riffs are always speaking to me. That's also why Counterparts are also one of my favorites too. I know The Plot In You, Beartooth, Veil Of Maya, Miss May I, and Volumes also have albums coming out this year and can't wait for all of them! Hoping Ice Nine Kills does too.

Apparently these guys were planning on releasing this album last year but couldn’t because of timing with the epidemic and they held off for as long as they could. Feel like they made the right call though. Music is a powerful tool. It comes and speaks to us right when we need it to. Glad you’re still here and kicking, otherwise you might miss out on all the great music that’s coming ahead and could possible help you find peace in your soul. That’s really all I could ask for, for other people to keep pushing and find joy in the little things. It may not be much, but it’s enough if you choose to believe in it.

The whole song! Especially the build up to the chorus and then the chorus kicks in is just hard hitting, perfection!! But I agree, when i listen to this the outro, the acoustic is absolutely amazing! Like pulling the lyrics from my head and heart sometimes and put into more clarity.
JT and Jesse are extremely like-minded in the writing of their lyrics together as well as their roles in the sounds behind the voices. I was immediately hooked when they released "Pulse" years ago and love all their music. They truly do not disappoint with any song. Same with Jesse's other project, Ghost Atlas. Would also recommend giving them a listen if you haven't already. Not quite the same sound as ERRA, but definitely worth the try with his writings style.

yeah a bunch of those riffs are clearly variations on the type of rhythm Tool used in Schism- that riff is a fucking wellspring of inspiration you can do all sorts of cool shit with the template without even directly ripping anything off or being redundant.

Oh this was beautiful, it had a lot of elements from Augment i think, I do kinda miss the old ERRA sound so its always nice to hear little bits that remind me of older ERRA. This band deserves more recognition.

Schism, Vicarous, and 46&2 are like the three big ones as far as Tool riffs that inspired other artists.

this will be album of year without a doubt in mind. this song specifically may be my favorite. i absolutely love the vibe of this song. from the beautiful balance of big powerful chords and more technical groovy riffs to the pictures the lyrics paint. ugh. just so good.

Oh this was beautiful, it had a lot of elements from Augment i think, I do kinda miss the old ERRA sound so its always nice to hear little bits that remind me of older ERRA. This band deserves more recognition.
