Watch winders exist to keep watches on time when they are not the wrists. They are revolving machines that aficionados like very much because they can change from one watch to another easily and without having to set it again. Watch winders belong to these numerous devices that help in taking care of the watch. But out of their mission, they are also creative objects. They mix design, technique and functionalities in order to create a little show that could impress your guests, or just entertain you. From London to Switzerland, TheWATCHES.tv shoot the best ones and interviewed also Bernard Favre, the inventor of the very special Planet.

Why the need for a watch winder!? Perpetual calendar or not, the beauty of watches is to 'play' with them!

I didn't even know this was a thing until the other day. I haven't worn my Seiko kinetic watch in forever and it was dead, I wanted to fully charge it quickly, so I took apart a fan and taped the watch to it... Well that didn't work, and I was thinking to myself "someone should invent a rotating device to keep your watch charged (or wound)" LOL!

$20 not working on electricity and fine. Not the cost of tgis crap for way too expensive watches. It's a bragging/sculpture for your dwelling. If you have one of these, you shouldn't and money could be spent better (or worse)

Great video, thank you! As others have mentioned, I did a double-take as well thinking that was Becks! :)
My father used to spend so much time going on at me about the benefits of watch winders and why I should get one. Luckily for me, after I finally expressed an interest in getting myself one, he kindly treated me to a WOLF watch winder a couple of years ago for Christmas and I haven't looked back since. They are an essential item for any true watch enthusiast!

  • @tomasinacovell4293

Why use a watch winder, it will just wear out the watch movement make service intervals more frequent and you'll still have to reset the watch after a few days? it's not a conveyance item it's for lazy folks that don't understand watches. The only time it should be used is in a watchshop where they repair watches.

Actually it's not good if a watch is always stopping and starting, keeping it running I'd very good, keeps it lubricated etc.
