  • In this video, we share another mishap where our plan to wire the main house without windows and doors in place caused up another small setback.
    Shoutout to ‪@tillytothetophere‬ for sharing your electricals theft story. That motivated me to share ours as well. Hopefully these thieves can live on what they stole forever... We are not discouraged though, hurdles are meant to be lept. We will dust ourselves and move on whenever we stumble.

    Sorry bro. This is a known issue and mostly an inside job. For this reason I delayed mine until I had all the requirements lined up. I think I mentioned it in one of my videos. The problem is that ECG will not give you the meter until some wiring work is done.
    Folks please follow this sequence. Get some few wiring done, followed immediately by ECG inspection and meter. Then power up, install and ARM the fence electric security system and setup security cameras. Once there is power they normally stay away.

If you say the thief had electrical training, fine but I don’t think my electrician was the one who did this.

    @halilkunge9295 Год назад +1

    Sorry for your loss bro but electric fence and just having electricity in the house alone will not deter thieves. It will only slow them down, not stop them.
    Your best bet is to fix doors and at least burglar proof the windows before you proceed to install any electrical cables.
    That's the only way you can prevent thieves from raiding the place again.
    I'm surprised your electrician didn't warn you about this. It's common knowledge in Accra.
    Wiring should only be done once doors and windows are installed.
    It wouldn't be far fetched to assume your electrician knows something about this...

    • @GhanabaKwaku
      @GhanabaKwaku  Год назад

      Even doors aren’t enough to deter a thief. Give a determined thief time and they will break a bank vault. Theft is inevitable in building. Minimizing it should be the goal.
      Regarding my electrician, I don’t think he had anything to do with this. He did warn me but I don’t like living with “This is the way we do it here”. Please watch RUclips.com/@tillytothetophere; she had doors and windows in place and they lost all their cables. We will deal with this loss and learn from it. oh my days, sorry sir!
    This is too sad. What the hell is wrong with some people in Ghana.
    Somebody works very hard for months/years, saves money towards a building project and then another person will use a single day to steal everything. Not great!
    The thing is, how did they even find out that you were doing the electrical. That is one thing I never understand but this is really sad. I think when it gets to this stage you probably need people on site 24hrs a day because this is too much!

    • @GhanabaKwaku
      @GhanabaKwaku  Год назад

      Very sad, DOT. But I remain comforted knowing it could have been worse. These things happen in building but you always wish it won’t happen on your project. If you can find someone to live on site 24/7 that would be ideal. That is really a challenge though, these people are humans too and you can’t expect that they won’t leave site for something at some point.
      Regarding how they know wiring was ongoing, maybe I need to get a waste management vehicle for us by the various contractors… my electrician proudly displays his company’s logo on his pickup truck so that could be how they knew.
