    I just watched the episode again, and I take back what I said about them not doing enough to justify the Kenny/Eric scene.

    I see Harper as a young Eric, which is why he said he doesn’t think she’s a good person. He sees himself

      Definitely!

      Right! And I think that's why he fired Harper. He saw who she was and tried to knock her down a peg

      @@djtyshonHe fired her because she was involved in insider trading AND falsified her transcript. She was moving reckless and didn’t have the the qualifications for her position. That would destroy the company.

    I think Eric fired Kenny because he had issues with Kenny all the way back to season 1

    • @OneMike
      @OneMike  2 месяца назад

      Eric fired Kenny because Eric knew he couldn't be seen as weak, and Kenny had seen him in a weakened state. It was purely an egotistical move. They may have had issues dating back to S1 too, though. I honestly don't remember S1 THAT well. It's been a while.

    The firing of Kenny didn’t logically make sense. I think it was supposed to show how inept Eric is at his job. Remember the main guy Bill (I think is his name) was shocked & questioned Eric’s judgement to fire Kenny on the day of an IPO.

    • @OneMike
      @OneMike  2 месяца назад

      The firing of Kenny was a purely egotistical move. Eric had talked earlier about not liking that Kenny saw him in a vulnerable state after the situation with his wife and his drinking. Then he later said he didn’t want to perceived as weak. He fired Kenny because Kenny saw him in a vulnerable/weak state.

    This premiere screamed "dumb down" to me.

      You know what I noticed about how this show operates? The best example of it was when they were discussing the price of Lumi. It was like "blah blah blah financial jargon blah blah blah ... I need it no lower than 4.80. No lower than 4.80? No lower than 4.80! Got it!" So then later when someone goes "4.30" we can go "NO!! That's bad! They said no lower than 4.80!"

    Shocked they didn't continue where they left off in season 2 with Harper's firing but I like the direction because it opens the door for other characters to shine. Thought this was one of the best episodes for Ken Leung as Eric. It was a snake move for him to fire Kenny but I thought they did a good enough job to explain why he would fire Kenny, during that impromptu coke/alcohol scene with Yas and her lawyer. He regretted being vulnerable with Kenny during his time of need. I believe his intention was to fire Robert and he suddenly switched after witnessing Robert's sniveling. Now this is a dog eat dog show and so there are no likable characters but the character I dislike the most is Robert. Please tell me how you can wake up to your dead fuck buddy and go to work the same day. 🙄 Robert has always been a tool. The fact that Eric tries to get him on track shows that Eric has some compassion even if he lacks it for Kenny. I'm sure Kenny will come back like they brought Daria back to bite Eric in the ass when it's all said and done. Overall, I thought this is one of the better episodes of all the seasons.. A great opening!.. and yeah, I miss seeing more of Harper and I hope they bring Gus back. Oh, and Sweet pea is the most annoying so far .. lol
    Ps .. 2 dick scenes.. if you count the naked couple jumping off the boat in the opening scene and of course Yas' father. 😬

      I didn't even see the naked couple jump off the boat in the first scene! I might have been looking down. I saw a bare ass, but that was it.
      And yeah, IDK if I put my comment before or after you put this one, but I watched it a 2nd time and came back here and pinned a comment saying that I take back what I said about them not doing enough to justify the Eric/Kenny scene. When I watched it again, I picked up on exactly what you mentioned: that moment where he was like "I shouldn't have let him see me like that." I was like "Yeah, that's enough to justify it." lol
