- Mistakes or Problems building Chrysler 300 Hellcat. In this we talk to Boost Kingz about some of the issues or difficult building a Hellcat Chrysler 300. Chrysler no longer offers an SRT 6.4L 392 & never considered making a Hellcat SRT version. The most famous for Chrysler 300 Hellcat, Redeye or Hellephant is Khal_SRT or Khal SRT in the mopar community. Khal SRT has made multiple 300 Hellcats, 300 Hellcat Redeye & 300 Hellephant 7.0L 426 Hemi. The Chrysler 300 base would love to see more buzz around the brand to build the community & expand the 300 platform.

Khal SRT already did a red eye and a hellephant 300, he was able to use the knob shifter on his 300 without the notifications but still nice build
He cleared those codes, he definitely had the same problem just has the tools to work around it

khal can do this in like a week. Key to that, get a donor charger.
I expected it to have this before I even saw this new video. That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the last video of the 300 Hellcat for the first time.

I worked at Chrysler up into a year into the first Hellcats. Star Catalogue was our internal go to for VIN filters. They are different. The trims have variants in as well. Good job, sorry it took those trial and errors. But it's more wisdom on your part. Love the conversion.

The one thing I hate to do as a mechanic is wiring harness🤦♂️I’ll do the motor transmission and rear end I just hate doing wiring especially the harness..Car looks nice though 👍
It sounds like a real pain in the ass. def seemed to give him a headache
Wiring is just irritating, i would rather swap an engine any day.
Its a shame we cant get the 300 SRT in the states but the rest of the world still get the updated version I'll never understand
many say sales but I don't think so. You never have high sales on top performance trims or models - it's designed to create excitement & butts in the door to buy lower price point versions.
@@RTLife Exactly! So with all the dodge hype within the past 5 or 6 years the 300 SRT would have been a great idea an it for sure would have sold just as well as the Challenger an Charger, in my opinion

Someone mentioned down below, about emissions and such. Best part is, it will pass emissions and everything, AND you pay insurance on a V6!!! That is badass.

I was wondering how that would work. Grab a 15+ 300C , S, or Limited and snatch up a wrecked 15+ Charger Hellcat. What would I do about Emmissions when they took up the OBD reader to the car. I could have a 16' rent a car spec 300 V6 but completely transformed into a 17' SRT Hellcat Charger. How would I get it to pass?
@@LSp8 I suspect, if you put all of the emissions back on, it will pass. It merely looks to see if the O2 sensors are present and working and all of the other sensors tied to emissions are registering. It doesn't care what the car is.

It is such an amazing build. I can just imagine the hair pulling and headaches associated with some of the wiring issues. Alas, the wealth of information gained is great though. I would have never thought about different wiring harnesses for trim levels etc. I would assume they would make one master harness that encompassed all the trims. That would make financial sense. But apparently not the case. Oh and then eBay??? Some schmuckety schmuck lists a harness and he may or may not be right with the trim description, and it still doesn't work? Holy moses the anger that would come! LOL Kudos to you man. That is a slick build. I think I would personally debadge it after buying, but I am a sleeper guy. I'll be over to check it out in a bit.
yah I never thought wire harnesses would be the most difficult part of doing this! He really did a great though & I'm sure the Redeye 300 will be even better

But it is all squared away now.
Did you ask khal art? For the shifter? I believe when he made his video on his redeye 300 he said that you had to get a specific plug to make it work

It's not the same subframe, they are close but the hellcat has ALOT more bracing and plating. That subframe is not long for this world 😆
yah I would imagine the hellcat would have some extra support for that higher HP output

Did the full set up for 40k and selling for 80 that’s crazy good profit if u really know how to swap
18 months? Khal knocks out one in about 10-12 weeks. I guess for the first time doing it, it would make sense to take that long.
He only worked on it 1 day a week. I believe Khal does these conversions full time

Ok nice build no doubt !! What state does he live in ? I'm asking because he changed from a V6 to a V8 and most say u can only swap a V8 for V8 ? The vin of the car will state it's a V6 ? The charger pcm he used will state V8 ? Did he have any problem with registration?? And did it pass inspection ?? No doubt the V8 puts out more emissions than the V6 ??
No problem with registration or inspection.
The best part is, based on the VIN, the insurance is for a V6 car.

I'm stuck on the same decision man, keep the 5.7 and max it out, do a 6.1 and keep it srt8 style, a 6.2, the 6.4 or just throw the hellaphant in it lol
I recently bought a 2021 300S with a 5.7. I come from the Ford arena where small motors make big power on boost. A boosted 4.6 can make 700hp to the tire on pump gas with a Whipple. Why not just beef up the bottom end on the 5.7 and boost it. You lose RPM with the bigger motors. It seems no one does this. I'm wondering if it's because it's cheaper to do a Hellcat swap. There's really no reason a well built 5.7 can't make big power considering you can do it with Chevy and Ford platforms quite easily.
@@frankmc5112 that's what I was thinking just forge the 5.7, I don't know if km matters or not, but I'm sitting at 240,000km that's the only reason why I was thinking of getting a new engine but seeing that the 5.7 can actually make high power I might just rebuild my 5.7??

i know this is an old video but bro too 18 months on it now adays khal srt and other people can swap in 24-48 hrs and even unseasoned people can swap in under a week. its very easy now that theres so much documentation and tutorials on it

Great build, but not worth it in my mind. I'd rather just stroke my 5.7 and put a whipple 3.0 on it. same (or nearly) power, lower cost and build effort.
