I cant wrap my head around the fact that when he got stabbed he bled out for 6 hours. He was in so much pain and i think Eiji could've took his pain away. He couldve survived but he was done fighting, hes been fighting his whole life. He died knowing he was loved by someone who didnt want anything in return. This Anime truly broke me, I dont think I will ever recover from it, I've never even been in this much pain from a loved one passing irl, but for some reason Ash's death has left me feeling numb, I get it he's not real, but it's the fact that other kids irl grow up like him, except they never learned to be loved, they never learned how to love. I'm so proud of Ash. He fought well, and most importantly he is loved, as Eiji said his soul will always be with him, Ash will always have Eiji

I joke around alot... but for real this anime is so sad like it absolutely breaks your heart into a billion pieces. Just thinking about this anime makes my heart ache...Its a REALLY good anime, like the story line is great, the characters are great. But I will warn u...this anime will make you really really sad. Please believe me. I still havent been able to recover. But this is just how I feel about it, others have their own opinions. But as far as I know everyone who has watched the show are sad.

Shagun Kumar You are absolutely right. Every time I think about it I feel like crying my eyes out. Every time. It’s an amazing story line about a never ending friendship and the characters were portrayed amazingly. This is by far the best but saddest anime I’ve ever seen.

Banana Fish is so Underrated! My tears won't come out but my heart hurts like crazy. My brain just empty thinking about Ash and Eiji's happy ending.
In the song it sounds like he’s saying mama but in a hurt voice and I could just see ash surrounded by those monsters and he’s calling his mom to help him reaching his hand out to her while his mom is walking away. 🧿👄🧿 my life has been taken away I’m going to go cry now bye. This song makes me sad, of course, but for some reason I also find it very comforting. Something about the tone reminds me of being a little kid. I can't really explain it with words but it sounds like a guardian angel keeping watch on a snowy midwinter night. Not that that makes any sense...

You know what's so sick about this? It's the fact that as much as I'd like to joke around that bringing this anime up is messed up..... I still don't have the heart to forget everything I've been through during the week I was watching this because if I did I feel like I'm betraying my own emotions. I don't cry much anymore (thank AOT for that) but just hearing and remembering everything hurts my heart. I wish to visit the library and just take in the scenery. Maybe leave a rose or two. Banana Fish will always have a place in my heart.

i watched it like 3 years ago when the anime first came out and i still couldn't get over it. especially after i learned how eiji coped with ash's death and all that stuff. like him thinking strangers on the streets are ash, locking the pictures of him away so that he can keep a part of ash to himself only.. their story is just so beautiful and heartbreaking and the more you look into it the sadder it gets.

it’s been awhile since i’ve seen banana fish, i watched at the start of my freshman year. i’ve never cried this hard in forever, it hits harder in the middle of night.
i watched it a second time months later with my mom, i lied to her saying that ash goes to japan with eiji. we finished it but i ran out of tears to cry at the last episode.
note to self: watch it again to really feel something

Me after saw the ending of banana fish: didn’t even cry but shock + angry alot. Then I realized that that may not the best ending we have waited for but think for ash, he have a horrible life, that child have a deep hurt inside that he could never recover from it, if ash till alive he may get into the fight again as his always. Beside, being death is ash choose, so that he could keep his beautiful dream last forever. Ash death made me understand him more ❤

the anime is REALLY REALLY GOOD but it talks about a LOT of topics heavy like r/pe and sex trafficking and has a lot of death and blood involved I would recommend looking at what the recommended age is before watching it. I have seen a lot of people recommending this anime without giving proper trigger warnings. The anime has helped me a lot and changed the way I look at myself and the world around me but, it has also brought me soooo much fricken pain . Just prepare to cry your eyes out and feel empty for the rest of your life
