He’s so good in such a different way. He doesn’t just shred or play super fast. He just really plays and it’s so pleasant to listen to. And it’s clean. I want a whole iTunes album of lemmos guitar of the day segments 😂
I've got a 1965/6 FJN (folk, jumbo, natural), which is similar, but a slightly larger body. These "folk" Gibbies make excellent acoustic lap slide guitars, with their wider nut, uncompensated saddle, and 12th fret neck joint, which moves the bridge into the middle of the soundboard. They were designed to be used with nylon, silk and steel, or steel strings (may load soundboard with medium gauge). The essential Kelly Joe Phelps used a FJN on his first two recordings, which is where I got the idea from. If you haven't heard his "Lead Me On", you are in for a treat.......!
Michael continues to display why he is the top guitarist on the internet. His creative genius continues to shine on GOTD and we are the lucky recipients of his incredible talents. This guitar has exquisite tone and the fishman pick-up was a much needed addition but Michael please tell us, plugged into what? How much reverb? We want all your secrets revealed.
I have one of these that I got nearly fifty years ago for fifteen dollars and that I learned to play on. It is truly special and I cherish it to this day.
Got one that someone had stood on and a Dog had bitten a piece out of the underside. Plays a dream . That string spacing and the Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. Cool.
Read comments above I own one I think 1962-3 no cracks a bit scratched still good condition and sounds just like video no pickup unmolested . Am willing to thin my herd
I have a 1962-3 no cracks but scratched here n there from playing. They are wide neck but made for steel strings. It was only made a few years then stopped production they then brought I’d back again for a few more years. I know the early production had Brazilian rosewood but the later models I m not sure. Lemmo that was nice you really made that folksinger sing , that old wood top needed that vibration. Great playing on acoustics n Jen love that laughter . May be I drive to Norms n see if he wants mine
Dude you are such a good guitar player. Not just technically but the feeling and atmosphere you create, which is the most important thing. Some of the best I've ever heard. Cheers Lemmo🙏
Lemmo I think I have a 64 with more checkering n a few scratches but otherwise in good condition. You play it so well with that wide neck sounds good thanks . It’s my only gibson in the fleet
I believe that this model was designed for finger style guitarists hence the wide spacing. There is a Martin model part of the O series if memory serves with a similar neck.
My uncle won this guitar when he was 12 in 1964 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota by stuffing the ballot box and just gave it to me recently, pretty funny story. His dad (my grandpa) made him go try and return the guitar but the owner of the shop said he had won it and refused.
@@davidkrause6990 I have a 68 without the pickguard. Your right like a 12fret LG3. If it didn’t have that neck I’m sure people would be all about them. I think the thick neck really adds to its sound.
He probably means flamenco because they definitely need one. Some classical players put the clear plastic self-adhesive ones on, particularly if it's an expensive, made to order guitar.
Hey Lemmo, Wolfgang Van Halen will probably be putting together a band. You my friend, should hit him up and offer your services. You two would be a force to be reckoned with.

sublime.
almost. Bradley's (now, his son Jakob's) guitar is the FJN Folksinger Jumbo - different body shape. (this one is 00 versus Jakob's Dreadnought)
Jen’s laugh after lemmo talking about the “Wide-D” neck shape cracked me up😂

Yea Mike - Just your everyday run of the mill "cowboy chords"! Sounding great as usual!

Great playing, thank you..

That Folk Singer did a little rockin' tonight!
Very cool and great sounding guitar. Fantastic playing man.
Anyone else enchanted by what he was playing
With respect, Lemmo you bring new meaning to utility player.
beautiful sounds Michael
Take your whiskey home 🥃 indeed my friend. Love it
That was really great.

Lemmos playing is so refreshing and beautiful😍
I was so blown away by the unplugged part that I thought he was plugged in!
Brad Nowell of Sublime learned on this guitar. Learning guitar I started with Sublime songs and I've always wanted a Folksinger. 😎

@@localguy8 how much you charging?
haunting sound...maybe just your playing. Great guitar
I think it's the guitar too all gibsons kind of have this
Just beautiful. Nice selection for that guitar. Lemmo played great !
I played one once and have been searching for one ever since
Dynamics were amazing in this video, Michael's playing feels like it's at a new level!
Quelle classe se Lemmo !!

You and Jen make them all sound great!!!!!!!!! You should put some Gigantic pickguards on there...those look a little small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice playing, that sound was so much better with the pickup.
Great playing! Thank you.
Very nice guitar.

Cheers Lemmo🙏
he kills it! really pleasant and some serious skills
Oh yes! The Wide-D shape with the 2 inch nut!
That is some great playing, Michael
This guy never disappoints great skills and talented.
I gave mine to my son! Great guitar!
Love that at 6:04, is that yours? that's a very pretty/cool little number.
take your whiskey home... 9 months sober today
lol @ speeding up the recording for the tuning... love it
Great playing Lemmo....🍁
Mike I enjoy how you are changing up the channel with the extra playing at the end. You’re a master of the camera and mic.
Lemmo I think I have a 64 with more checkering n a few scratches but otherwise in good condition. You play it so well with that wide neck sounds good thanks . It’s my only gibson in the fleet
I own one of these and LOVE it. I think the pick guards are cute 😛
if anyone knows the name of the last song when it was plugged in please reply
Yeah, this is a top GOTD vid for sure
They should start listing the tunings he is in and songs played.
Some really nice playing Lemmo
Is the bridge cracked to hell and back?
What was the first song?
they should start writing the songs lemmo plays in the description! So I dont have to keep searching the comments
It’s tradition around here
Never seen one of these, wow
ill give you credit Lemmo you nailed this one.. 👍👍 and im your worst critic

Excellent guitar playing.
What was the last tune he played?

Taking my whiskey home.
these videos get me through my day
Sweet folksinger!!!
Love the playing today, Michael!
What tuning was that first piece in? And was that a lemmo original?
Open G with an extra G: DGDGGD (usually it’s DGDGBD)
What size this guitar?
24 3/4 scale length .... neck junction In 12º fret instead 14 º like normaly
Same size body as an LG2.
if you tune to 432 the ambient noise doesn't sound angry next to it :)
Guitar Tuna will do it I assure you
What was the first piece he played called?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
What was the first tune
Jeff Tweedy played one of these once upon a time.
What's the tuning? DGDGGD? Thanks
what tuning is this in? Great playing.
You should just marry that guitar!
Please tell me you got some video w Billy Strings!
I was hoping you will sing "The Lilly"
How much is it ?
Sounds beautiful, looks like its shirt came back from the dry cleaner with too much starch
I read folk singer I was hoping for freebo
I was made in 64, but I don't look or sound that good. Let's go FLYERS!
Classical guitars don't have pickguards. Flamenco guitars have pickguards and most have clear guards. This is for nail tapping on the top.
Rockin' on the folk singer. How ironic!
Sounds great.
Just close your eyes, because that pickguard...
on last noie phone hit same note .Listen synchronicity !!! !!!!! !!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏
Love the Van Halen jacket. Where did you get it?
It's a simple jacket I think, then he put the sticker on
Whoever designed that pickguard was high.
Don’t disrespect a high person like that.
Haha true
I would take it off and get a new bridge too if I were to own this for 30 more years and had any money
That neck even when he's playing it looks awfully huge. That wouldn't work for me.
Flamenco okay starting to make a little sense.
There's something about this acoustic that makes it sound just a touch sweeter than most! Good job Lemmo! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Sounds nice - best not to look at it though!
I have one with the pick guards removed. It’s like a 12 fret LG-3. Same year.
Don’t like the pick guard
@@davidkrause6990 I have a 68 without the pickguard. Your right like a 12fret LG3. If it didn’t have that neck I’m sure people would be all about them. I think the thick neck really adds to its sound.
Sounded a bit like some Roy Clark at the end.
It was built for finger picking.
I blanking on the songs 😓
Great playing. Beautful sonding guitar. I'm not digging the pickgaurds, they hide te beauty of the wood. Plus the interrupt the flow of the curves.
Why would a classical need a pick guard
He probably means flamenco because they definitely need one. Some classical players put the clear plastic self-adhesive ones on, particularly if it's an expensive, made to order guitar.
Lemmo
The pick gaurd is pretty ugly
Hey Lemmo,
Wolfgang Van Halen will probably be putting together a band. You my friend, should hit him up and offer your services. You two would be a force to be reckoned with.
What's special about Wolfgang except his father. I guess he can open doors.
i suck at guitar
Where's the other guy?
The guitar is a true treasure, but that pickguard is hideous!
It's time to move my car.....
lol
Great guitar, sounds just like Starbucks.
That pic guard is disgusting.
If only those giant ugly pickguards were any color but white... or at least lose the top one. Sounds beautiful though.
