One serious weakness in the plot I find is the complete lack of intelligence of Scofield apart from him drawing the tattoo. Throughout the series he/they are just mindlessly on the run with the recurring pattern of being reported by eyewitnesses. Never is the protagonist given a proactive/discerning persona but entirely dumb and reactionary. All the smarts is given to agent Mahon!
