I hate when I can pick out the A.I. voice.. There's just something that makes the whole video seem 'fake' when the narrator isn't real.
Especially when there are so many voice actors online who will do the work for so little. On the other hand, many amateur videos are made by people who aren't even monetized by RUclips.

@@mutalixyeah it's one of the third generation text to speech AIs, It's a pretty premium one since you can even change inflections and as some emotion to the voice.
this better tell me something new with that title...

in japan O means yes and X or cross means no. the square means documents and triangle means viewpoint

AI still can't pronounce names and words correctly
It isnt so bad. I mean i heard only like 3 misspronounciations. Psygnosis (when it said it first time). After 14:55 i think it was fixed.
MB when it talked about the consoles megabytes of i guess ram and it said em bee, instead megabytes but i think its forgivable cause
it just repeats what was written in the first place so this one is on script writer.
Last was 3DO and this was very bad, but still kinda meh. All in all i didnt mind AI narration too much.
Frankly sometimes its better then some human narrations and their lack of pronounciation skills.
Also names were pronounced correctly Kutaragi and Hideo Kojima both. I didnt catch other names in this video so forgive me. Maybe there were other names.
Maybe there was also more of these pronounciation errors then i noticed myself so please if u could elaborate what was so wrong.
Im just one person cant hear all badly pronouce words. Also and thats like the most important factor im not native english speaker so i couldve missed some words.
kutaragi was pronouced wrong, in Japanese the "R" sound doesn't excist so we pronounce it as Kutalagi
@@lancebukkake Nobody except u pronounce it like that. U think i watched one or two videos about PS2 or Kutaragi? Every one of those creators did pronounce it as Kutaragi not Kutalagi. Im affraid its only u and people like u do this BS. AI did a good job.
@@everx7 you obviously don't speak Japanese and just because everyone else says his name like that too doesn't make it right. I'm Japanese so I know what I'm talking about.
@@lancebukkake U Japanese and so what? U pronounce names the correct way, english people do this way. Its ok. Dont see a problem with it. In Japan Japanese people also dont pronounce every english word as it should be and so what? The main thing is we and u know who this is, L or R, still the same person. U dont like it. Im sorry u should get used to it, cause believe me from what i heard every english speaking person pronounced the name the same. Bye

They also provided the PSY-Q SDK and tools which were sent out to developers to make their games
The Sony to Apple comparison is one I've made many times. Sony was respected above almost all other brands in every product category and build quality was also superior. But Sony took more risk and were willing to try more things than Apple.

for anyone hoping theres actually new information in this video that you didnt already know from every other video: there is none.
I know the PS1 story well (I grew up with the PS1) and I do enjoy the nostalgia hearing different history takes on it. This was enjoyable. However, the pronunciation of some of these words makes me think this is an AI voice. Who says "Ess. En. Eee. Ess" rather than SNES or "Em Bee" for MB instead of just saying megabytes? Good work on the video and narrative, but why the need for AI to read it?

They thought they were going to be VHS of video game, where they made money from license fee both the hardware console and game software. So Panasonic, Sanyo, and Goldstar didn't get any software license fee and had to pay hardware fee, so they had to make profit for each console by charging higher price.
Sony broke even or lost money for each console they sold, they made money from the license fee on each game that was published for the PlayStation. Sega definitely lost money for each Saturn console they sold trying to price match the PlayStation, but again that at least they could count on software license for some income.
you forget to mention.. PS has a no nonsense naming their console.. PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and guess what after that PS5..
And now they still compete on eBay
This was a good video and the AI voice was pretty good and didn't bother me at all, so I watched the whole thing. I actually thought the voice over was better than a video I was watching about the same thing that had real voice over that I stopped watching because I didn't like the guy's voice lol

This video is full of mistakes and shows how little knowledge and research went into this.
Ot wasn't Nintendo who went to Sony, it was the other way around. The resson is simple: Sony wasn't known for sound chips/processors.
The soumd chip itself wasn't revolutionary at all. The Amiga had PCM sound WAY(!) before any other.
X and O are reversed in this video. X means no and O means yes.
A sound chip alone doesn't mean it's a whole sound card, because a card is more or less a device on its own and NEEDS a seperate processor and in many cases even memory.

8bit games rudimentary ?? cmon man it was a huge mile stone already at that era.there is so much effort been put in nes games. 18 bit era was nothing but cosmetic development of 8 bit.
16 bit was a huge technological leap from 8Bit and outside of the NES I can’t tolerate most 8Bit games with their primitive graphics and even more primitive sound, 16 bit was next level and the SNES changed everything with that SPC700, suddenly video game music didn’t sound like video game music anymore.
@@Adamtendo_player_1 graphic wise more colors palette and higher definition of pixels and sound wise richer and more polyphony as a yamaha synth could offer but the game logic and the code is almost the same. but the bigger sprites and more bits the logic and math until the 3d ones are almost the same.
Then the x box from Microsoft
Sony could still help out Nintendo for their long awaited Nintendo Switch Pro..ahaha..
