Thanks for this. I’ve tried using 0.27 copper wire at 15 turns. It can detect but you need to get the ring touch the surface of the reader. I presume using a smaller wire gauge will allow for some distance

Surely how it works. it's nfc Chip and this coil is the antenna the copper coil is wrapped inside a non-metallic ring and the two ends are welded to the chip You can cover it with resin after that You can use a metal ring, but an insulating layer must be applied (Ferrite Shield Sheet)

You can soak the card in acetone to melt the plastic away and just leave the chip. Works quickly too.
How many copper wire turns you gotta go?
How does it work? How do I set it up? Can I use an expired card and pay using such ring?
