For anyone on the fence I can tell you Carl’s guitar course is definitely worth it. I recently joined and have already learned a huge amount from Carl. His way of teaching really makes sense to me and I regret not joining sooner. I would be lying if I said I haven’t tried one other course before this one and it pales in comparison to the quality of teaching you will get from Carl.

First thing I can tell you is that the Rhythm guitar is in open D tuning. It then uses different phrasings of G D and A than what people are used to. I have the tablature to it if you would like it, it has all the guitar parts including lead.

Sounds awesome on my ESP viper, I have 24 frets, forget the les paul, Gary Dean Richrath was notorious of having this nasty metal guitar sound on his solos he even took this ballads to inject some of his personal sound on this solo, they’re simple but well inspired. Thanks for this tutorial...
Really loving the diversity this channel has because one minute you might release a Avenged Sevenfold song then the next your doing REO. I was wondering could you finish your no more tears lesson I’ve always wanted to learn that song and your the only teacher I watch

But hey it makes the lesson timing easier. normally I have to go to another video of a person singing to get that part right. Just a thought you should bring in some hot ass singer. For the end of your lesson. And play the song through in full. I would assume copyright issues too. anyway that's just me rambling.....keep doing what you're doing. Even with a 22 fret Les Paul its not that easy. I am thinking I'll need to have 9's on my guitar to bend it up to where it needs to go. I believe that last bend before the pick scrape, or as I call it "pick slide". Gary bends it up to 23.5. His Les Paul appeared to have 23 frets, in the video I watched. But he still did the bend from the 22nd fret. He didn't seem to have a problem bending that far. I'm sure his strings were very well stretched, or he was actually using 9's. Either way, he was definitely a one of a kind guitarist! (RIP Gary).
Finally getting some REO on the channel, love it! Is there any chance we could see some .38 Special? Some great fun and easy songs to some difficult songs from that band, lots of good variety.
Do you think you could do a short video on how to play the guitar solo from the live studio demo of this song please? I can’t find tabs for it anywhere and I don’t know how to figure it out myself. But the live studio demo has a great solo as well, it’s a little different.
