Had a storm on my way back to Layton from Moab. It was nuts, but not this nuts. This is a Texas sized storm.
I'm in East Texas; our power has been off for over 12 hours...
This is exactly why I wrote you a few months ago about designing a home...not a temporary shelter...I love Texas, just don't care for the weather

Wow Ron that was some light show condolences to those who died in that storm and prayers for those who lost their homes.
When I drove big trucks, our main terminal was there in Layton Utah.
Very impressive lighting shows right there....this means something wrong up there 👍

I flew in to DFW just as that was happening. We made a short pattern to stay South of the big storm, but the lightning show was pretty cool!
Wow Ron that lightning storm I saw one lightning bolt that went from the ground up into the sky. I've never seen lightning like that. Great video Ron. You be careful these storms with the intense lightning they will bring very high winds and tornadoes. Stay safe

This was a huge cell, from Dallas to outside of Liberal, Ks. (where I am at). As we know it hit Perryton. Another damn good reason to have a bunker. AMEN!!!!!!
Great storm video! Electric doors will open as a safety profile. Imagine a fire turning the power of would it be safe practice. As a builder with safty as the vore most reason you should know.
You must have been somewhere east of Dallas. I am west of Longview and we were right in the middle of that. We still don't have power and we probably won't for a couple of days. That was one hell of a light show.

Should've been in S/E MI yesterday. One area got 2" of hail in about an hour. Plus the friggin rain!
I was in Houston TX at the airport in 2005 and there was a storm just like the one you filmed.

That storm passed east of me last night. I was on the very edge of that storm, did not get a drop of rain.
Nice to know that the hotel didn't have (functioning) backup generator.

That's incredible.
Reminds me a of a time that I was driving back across the UK with my partner. We entered into this crazy storm. The rain was coming down so hard you couldn't see barely 20 yards ahead, it was nuts. Pulled up under a bridge, with a bunch of other cars, to let the worst of it pass.
She had a "war of the worlds" album with her (one with Liam Neeson in it). We put that on the car stereo to listen to for the rest of the drive.
I always remember that - driving back through a crazy storm listening to war of the worlds.
