Yeah the graphical layout with SP is easily the best of any geo political simulator. All they need to do is develop a much more dynamic and complex economic/diplomacy engine. So far, the economics/diplomacy side to these games tend to feel more like an Excel spreadsheet than they do a living entity. That's the thing, it's not like an expensive graphics engine and development team are needed for games of this genre. All that's needed is that someone takes the time to sit down and put the effort into simulating a living and breathing global economy. The diplomacy and military elements to the simulation are fairly easy to design. It's the economics that's hard because to make it feel like a living entity, you have to simulate many variables and get them acting in a dynamic manner whereby it really feels as though the decisions you make really make a difference. As an object orientated programmer myself, I can appreciate why this is quite complicated to do but it can be done.
Personally, I know the economy was pretty cut and dry in terms of mechanics (do this, do that, and you max your country's potential), but I think the AI was _much_ more in need of attention. For instance, the vanilla (unmodded) AI never built anything but infantry. It was a travesty :(
@TortugaPower the reason there is issues with selecting things is because this game was made before the aspect ratio we use now. If you have a monitor aspect ratio of 5:4 which was mostly used before 2003 then this works PERFECT! Infact i have a monitor just for this game, for me it's unplayable at 1080p because you have to make sure the place you want to select is perfectly in the centre, this is an on going issue in the steam forums. It's a shame it'lli be judge and ruined by this stupid quirk, which I don't understand why they can't fix, I make game since 2000 so adapted for different aspect ratios... Regardless if you can get a more "square" monitor this game is a hoot still!
After mastering HOI4 id love to buy Supreme Ruler or Superpower 2... Not looking forward for the hours to spend on mastering one of them but I need a break from Hoi4... what would you recommend? :)
That's the default game, no mods for graphics or anything. Maybe it's someone cooking? It's been years since I made this and I haven't re-listened so I don't know, but I don't think I would record someone showering haha.
It was a good sim for it's time and there's not much that can touch it today. This is one genre developers haven't yet been able to master.
I'm constantly waiting for news on SuperPower 3! The team is currently working on The Guild 3, but I hope they get to SP3 after this!

@@TortugaPower It's been 1 Year, What happened?
superpower 3 was announced 😳
Here's a rundown of SUPERPOWER 2, one of my favorite geopolitical simulators.
I remember this game. Used to use nukes and remember the game shaming me for causing the end of civilization.
11:20 “Politicians HATE him! Figure out how this man DOUBLED gov’t income with a SINGLE button push!”
Theres no real reason to keep the Cuban Embargo in real life either.
I watched this to learn for when superpower 3 comes out

Supreme Ruler is better if you want a functional military aspect.
What was the company name that created superpower 2
Paradox Interactive
golem labs
Interesting , now the question is how modern is the UI on superpowers 3?
If it's anything close to this i guess ill skip it
This video was made in 2016, and it was "in development." It is 2021 and STILL "in development." It costs ten bucks. No point waiting.
How did you make the game look so good? Btw do I hear someone taking a shower in the background? xD

How can I download this game?
"If you loose next election your out of the game" Yeah good bye
It's pretty hard to lose those.
@@TortugaPower Ah Thanks.
Looks boring as hell🤔
