The northern part of Norway got the best nature and moutains in Norway, 100%. We can see the northern light almost every day. And when you go out in to the woods, away from all the lights from the citys, the sky gets so insanly clear with millions of stars and the northern light is just dancing right over you. Tromsø is said to be on 1 place when it comes to nature and all around that. Cant be explained, you need to see it in real life to understand how amazing it is!

My favourite place in Norway is Dovrefjell.
When you are in Dovrefjell, you will understand why Norwegians believed in trolls in the old days.
Its both beautiful and dramatic landscape.
And if you are lucky you might even see Musk ox`s, its some very hairy ox that look like they are survivors from the time when it walked Mammoth elephants around. :)
Its also a national park, and you will understand why when you see it.
But to see the full beauty of it, you should visit when there is no snow there. :)

I lived in Ålesund for 5 months and it's really beautiful city. The architecture and history of the city are pretty interesting. I've also been to Trolltunga and the view is awesome! This hike is way longer than to Preikestolen but it's definitely worth it! ;) But in general Norwegian nature is so beautiful that I can't pick which place is the best one :)

If you go to Trosmo, the Chasing Lights tour is a good deal. They have two different tours (small bus $50 and large bus $25). I took the small bus and they'll drive until they find the Northern Lights. It included hot chocolate, professional photos and cold weather clothes.

That's an amazing list! You've pretty much mentioned all the ones that I want to visit (after I win the lottery). Two others in MY list are TROLLKYRKJA (The Troll Church) and HELL, just for fun.

You should visit Vesterålen; Bø, Andenes, Nyksund.
Also Røst is well worth a visit.
The best way is to drive, yes I know it is pretty long drive, Oslo to Alta is 1924 km/1,195 miles through Norway.
But the scenery you will see crossing Saltfjellet through Saltdalen to Fauske and up through Hamarøy, Troms and then the last few miles to Alta.

We have been to Lofoten 3 times. And will go again, maybe next year. It is so beautiful there. We live near Stavern. We love it!, (- and the area around; Nevlunghavn, Helgeroa, Mølen). If you have a car, come here in the summer. It's not far from Oslo. We have SO many tourists here during the summer!! (If you come by bus/train, I can be your guide!👍🏼🇳🇴)

I was on a field trip to Finse for my alpine ecology course and this was a wonderful experience, especially hiking to the glacier! :)
I live in Bergen and I especially like it for the fact that the mountains are everywhere around and there are a lot of hikes to do with lots of beautiful view points. If you ever come back to Bergen I advice you hike to Løvstakken top, it's only about an hour long hike but you get a 360º view from the top and if the weather is good you can even see the open ocean past the fjord's islands :)

So many nice places. Langedrag-erea, Jotunheimen and Dovrefjell, the fjords at the west coast, travel the coast liner aka the world's most beautiful voyage, Setesdal, Ryfylke, Sørlandet, Ålesund, Helgeland, Saltstraumen, Lofoten/Vesterålen/Senja, Indre og ytre Troms, Finnmarksvidda, Finnmarkskysten og Pasvikdalen (en smal dal gjennom dype skoger med en ikke ubetydelig elv). Also the usual Pulpit Rock, the Troll Ladder, the Troll Tongue.

I`d recommend to go to Halden, if you`ve never been there, just for a day trip. Takes 1 hour and 45 min. with train from Oslo. The city is really nice during the summer. With Fredriksten Fortress and all the old houses in the city center. And you can combine the trip with going to sweden, it`s only 15 min. from the border.

Those are really amazing travel destinations! I can recommend you a few nice places to visit in Sweden, that are not very far from Norway. The Swedish west coast and the Bohuslän archipelago is really beautiful and it has many nice small fishing villages. My favorite places are Smögen, Marstrand, Grundsund, Fjällbacka, Fiskebäckskil and many more. (:

  • @toryvindwestbye4176

One other thing. Although Trolltunga and Prekestolen is getting a lot of attention (or hype) internationally, this is mainly a result of good marketing. For norwegians, two other locations or hikes rather are traditionally considered the most remembarable, namely the hike down Aurlandsdalen in Aurland, Sogn and Fjordane, and the hike over Besseggen in Jotunheimen, (Vågå municipality in Oppland).

Oh my god, I didn't see your answer until now!
Hahahha, depends on when you visit! Easter is wonderful, there's usually a lot of sun and much warmer than January and February :) And then you can also drive snowmobiles and go on trips to glaciers and ice caves! The winter is the best season. But in the summer you can see the midnight sun and go on boat trips. But I definitely recommend the winter! :)

  • @Middy_

Really recommend going to vaggetem (Outside Kirkenes). It is basically beautiful full out experience of the Norwegian nature. It is really peaceful there all year round. Winter and Summer both work well to see a lot of diffrent animals. And in the Winter you could go ice fishing there. (Allthough not too many fjords)
I have a few family members that live there, one that could show you around and help you get the full experience from the trip.
One last thing to note about it though, it is far to the stores and stuff, so would recommend buying stuff you need beforehand.

Im Norwegian living on the coast in the south. I have watched your video and I have a couple of recommendations. Tromsø is not necessarily very cold in winter as it is on the coast. It has much nightlife, very multicultural, amazing nature, attractions etc and has both fabulous Northern light and midnightsun. My family often goes Fishing and bbq-ing at 3-4am in the morning! in the sunshine during summer. I advise you to go there both winter and summer. Visit a reindeer farm as well in Alta and go for å ride. In the south you are more guaranteed sunshine in august as July can be rainy. Kristiansand is a beautiful City by the sea and is the City with most sunny days in Norway. Some amazing boat trips. Lovely small city, old pictoresque town, and many cute villages along the whole Southern coast. Have a nice Trip to those of you who will travel Norway. I have done it and it is an awsome experience even for us, being Norwegians ourselves

Since you loved Ålesund and road trips, you really should take one along the coast from Ålesund to Stavanger. It is spectacular, no words can describe it you have to experience it yourself. Especially Hardangerfjorden in spring time when the fruittrees bloom. I recommend you take your time, stop in the local villages, talk to locals about places to hike, sample the local cousine, there are a lot of farms called gårdsutsalg along the road where you can by food or souvenirs or like art, woodcarvings and traditional handcraft special to that area. Also Hardanger is Norways biggest fruit district (mostly apples plums and moreller, sorry don't know the english word for moreller but it looks like a cherry and is really sweet and good. Also the apple cider is the best in norway maybe even the world. Again i recommend buying it from the local farms. The only bad thing is that because of all the glaciers and melting watet the water is really cold even in summer so be prepared if you want to take a swim. Also because of all the ferrys it can get expensive. I recommend looking into ferjekort and other ways to get it cheaper since there is a LOT of ferries😂 sorry for the wall of text but I really wanted to make you want to take that roadtrip.

And you should travel to Svalbar and go on the dogsled, it's so much fun and so beautiful! And if you travel in the vinter it's always dark and you can see the northen lights.

I would recomend the summer.
And you could watch the norwegian tv series himmelblå. Its from the area👍
I noticed that you would do lofoten, then it would be great if you compared the sites. But if you go north in the summer, then i would strongly recomend to have a few days in helgeland❤️
