For the non German viewers, her dance partner Guildo Horn achieved 7. place in 1998 Eurovision. He actually is quite famous here, less in recent years definitely

I've seen strictly, but I've never noticed her German accent until now.

She doesn't have a German accent, she is South African afaik, but her German is really decent for it not being her mother tongue.

@@dollybozter8183 It's kinda mixed S. African and German. There's definitely some German influence on her accent.

@@julius9055 Most people that live one place, then move to another and spend years there have very odd, hard to place accents. I'm Aussie, knew an Irish guy that lived here 10 years; I thought he sounded American, an American I knew thought he sounded Aussie, and when he went back to visit Ireland they thought he sounded Aussie.
I also knew a Chinese guy, he learnt English from a very posh Brit, his accent was just a mess. He'd sometimes drop an okka twang almost as hard as mine, but most of the time spoke like he was writing an essay, and any word he learnt by reading he would absolutely butcher like pronouncing cough with a hard g.
