The way you talk about Voltron vividly and viscerally reminds me of Homestuck. I was a Homestuck, way back in its heyday. When it was new and unfinished and we didn't even know if there was going to even be an end. Might it go on for ever? Only Hussie knew. There were Hussie cults, and Troll cults, and Human cults, and fan fiction about the cults, and fan theories about the infiniteness of Homestuck, and holy shit it was a weird place to be. Homestuck was my first not-toxic fandom, and was where I met a lot of friends. I found a home there, and I got into cosplay because of it. Over time, the fandom grew more toxic and the series got even more off the rails. Then the 2012 Homestuck apocalypse happened. Hussie said the series was going on an indefinite hiatus, and pointed to the absolutely batshit things people were doing or saying. The fandom exploded. People threatened to harm themselves or others. There were literal groups dedicated to harassing him for More Content. And, then, Homestuck fandom imploded. People left in waves, either because of the toxicity or because they themselves were toxic. Homestuck's fan base has come back and it's infinitely more chill, but I have a massive trepidation around the fandom as a whole. I remember Gamzee coplayers jumping on people and tackling people and blasting horns in their ears. I remember Karkat cosplayers screaming horrible things on the top of their lungs. I remember Terezi cosplayers mocking the blind community. I love the series for getting me into a community and hobby I love, but I've chosen to distance myself. I have intense fondness, but also well-earned apprehension.
Yeeesss. It’s been years and I’m still not over Voltron. Aren’t they making a live action though?
I seen your Death note videos on Tik Tok and followed you immediately
